Need Help - IAT Sensor Stuck at 77 Degrees?

Hi All,

The IAT sensor readout on my EMS seems to be stuck at 77 degrees. No mater if it is 75 degrees out or 50 degrees out or if I am cruizing or under boost the EMS is still showing the IAT to be 77 degrees.

I tried unplugging the IAT sensor and the EMS still showed 77 degrees. Sometimes it cycles very quickly between -100 and +77, and other times it holds a steady 77 degrees.

Is my sensor fried, wiring screwed up, or the EMS broken?? Please help

i would think it would be a bad ground somewhere. I had that problem with the tps and map sensor rapidly moving to some crazy numbers. Turned out that there was a bad ground on the engine harness near the aem. (not my car)

I believe 77 deg is the default error readout, so if the sensor has a bad connection or is hooked up incorrectly that is what it will default to.

Bingo! Got a new IAT sensor today and hooked it up. 65 degrees, which is ambient. Unplugged it and it went right back to 77, so 77 is the default/failsafe.

Thanks for the help!
