ecu afr vs. W.B. gauge reading different

What are people doing to get similar aem gauge to aem ecu afr readings?

I have a 1313 ecu on my evo 8 with a external aem wideband.

My problem is that the gauge always reads different than what the ecu says in data.......12.4 vs 11.7 for example or 11.2 vs. 10.4

yes, i did the voltage offset thing, verified the sensor cal is correct.

regardless, i always get this changing difference between the 2 readings.

I tried using the same ground location/point as the ecu

i used a different ground spot, much closer

verified the voltage supplying the gauge is stable

got a new o2 sensor, no different...other than cold start sensor response.

any insight would be greatly appreciated.

easy....

1. make sure the proper guage is selected in the settings, sensor, oxygen wizard.

2. make sure the configure, units, afr units is correct

3. get the guage to read stoch, with the aem if i remmember correct disconnect the sensor from the guage?

4. last adjust the O2 gain so that they guage and ecu display the same. It should be like .96 to like 1.00

Try grounding it to the battery to see if that will help.

I've had the best luck wiring the power and ground to the same wires on the ecu harness that supply the ecu as Switched +12v and ECU ground. Can't remember the location numbers off the top of my head but the PDF wiring diagram that is supplied with the AEM EMS software and in the AEM EMS box will guide you.

If you would like to use a ZEITRONIX with linear output, let us know Aby and we will hook you up.

There are some other wideband manufacturers that use Zeitronix systems to test the accuracy of their own sensors on the production line.

I think the problem is the AEM instructions that come with the EMS. It states to disconnect your wideband with the ignition on and adjust the gain until you reach a specified voltage for the O2 reading. The only solution that I've found is adjust your O2 cal table to the wideband reading I'm getting from my gauge.

Mine is off as well but were talk +- 0.2 at most.. You must wire the gauge to the battery with a relay to switch it on and off. And make sure it's fused as well.
