Parts for Converting Maf to Map?
 
I'm switching over to a Map setup with the EMS. What are all the parts needed for the conversion? Is there a kit or do I have to buy all parts seperately?

Also, since I have a UEGO gauge already, I would be better off with the 1313, not the 1313U, right? If I just wire the UEGO to the 1313, will it be able to read and log AFR's then? Or will I need the 1313U for that?

You should be able to wire the UEGO to the 1313 and log A/F. That's what I've got.

To convert MAF to MAP, you will need the following parts:

3.5bar map sensor
map sensor adapter
AIT sensor, pigtail and bung
MAF-less intake pipe

I believe that's all, someone correct me if I'm wrong. :beer:

With the UEGO wired to the 1313, do you have to have your laptop connected in order for it to datalog? Or will it store your logs for you to download to your laptop later?

DO you just have the Uego gauge or do you have the wideband too? You can't just wire a gauge into your AEM and have it magically read A/Fs. You have to have a wideband converter connected to a wideband sensor. I use PLX. So if you only have the gauge and not the sensor and converter, you still need the 1313U, or another type of wideband like PLX.

Parts are just AEM 3.5 bar MAP sensor with harness

AIT temp sensor with pigtail to splice into your MAF harness after you unplug it

You don't have to get the MAFless intake, but why not since you can you might as well make it as free flowing as possible

Put the AIT in the Upper IC pipe, but far enough from the manifold to where you won't get heat soak, i.e. downstream of your BOV. The MAP sensor can either be drilled into the manifold or Teed off with a vacuum line, just be careful where you Tee it off, because I have been having issues with mine being on the same line as the BOV.


As far as the data logging goes, the ECU will internally log, once you set it up properly to do so. I just set mine to only log IF the boost is a certain level (-1psi) and the throttle is at least 70% that way it isn't logging while your just poking around town. Also make sure the sampling rate is turned all the way up and that you log things like Knock under the fast slots. You can also log on your PC, but I prefer internal logging and downloading it later, because your sampling rate is much higher and your knock will be much more accurate.

Oh I thought the gauge came separate from the wideband unit, maybe it doesn't. Anyhow, as long as you see output wires that you can solder into the ECU harness or a plug that plugs into the ECU you are good to go.

Ok. Cool. Yeah, theres 2 output wires on the back of the gauge that get wired to the EMS.

I just wasn't sure whether or not I would need the 1313U to log the AFR's.

Oh IC, no I have the 1313 and I just soldered the wideband output into the place where the stock narrowband went and it logs just fine. Logging ability is available no matter which wideband you use. I use PLX.

take in mind that you can use pretty much any wideband O2 sensor as long as you know the voltage range it operates in. Using a voltage chart from 0-5v the units scalar along with O2 gain for accuracy.
