i should aslo add that i got a 68.7kw at the front wheels with my exhaust system which was 2". another lancer with extractors and similar mods to mine scored 65kw at the wheels and his was a 2001 model. the diffrence was the extractors and exhaust sizing.

What's your friend's size? 2.25 is the optimum, isn't it?

Vespa

You have quoted the power you have at the wheels now, what it was before is just as important so the true gain can be seen.

Normally the power at the wheels would be around the 64Kw providing engine is doing its full 86Kw. It would them seem that one system made 1Kw extra and the other 4.7Kw extra.

Correct me if I am wrong

Now I can confirm that H/M headers (which I do not sell) the 105SS will give 13 Hp or 9.6Kw at the wheels when used in conjunction with a 2.25" tail pipe assembly.

Anyhow something to think about.

it is impossable to compare dyno scores. we were done on the same day/time/dyno so its ok to compare them. my motor was not new and def should not produce the same amount let alone more thena 2001model lancer. so despite what you are trying to shoot down raptor a 68.7kw at the wheels for a 8 yr old car which should produce 86kw at the fly is a good score. there were swifts there that were not able to get out of the 50's

also i have a 2" catback exhaust and 2.25" before the cat. i have a stock cat though only because everywhere i go and i always read that they're a waste of money on NA 4s.

hey i;m thinking of gettin extractors for my lancer 1.8
just a few questions?
whats the ideal size for the extractors? is the flex and down pipe just the pipe between the cat and extractors?
can u just get the extractors or would you need to buy the flex pipe aswell..
Is there any sound difference?
thanks for your help

yeha flex and down is the pipe between cat and extractors. it made a good difference to me and i reckon its worth it. the bigger down pipe is one of the reasons why the rpw and alot of german extractors are so good.

well I have the RPW extractors the 4-1 race design and for the money I paid it included the flexi as well and it was the same amount as what you have paid for your custom which is all good - something to keep in mind thou when you proceed to do more mods to the car is that you may find that you may not get the same amount of torque and hp as some others because of the mix and matching you will be doing so it will be a bit of a hit and miss I have stuck with the same workshop and my car is full of there gear and runs great

I'm not running down what you have bought as it is always a hard one to know what is going to work and what is not I learnt this lesson the expensive way I had a set of Hi Tech extractors a 4-2-1 at a 21/2" press bent and they were great for the mods that I had on the car but then when it came time to step up and get some more serious mods the extractors let me down so I got the RPW ones and I simply can't fault them and it was not until someone explained why they were not good that I began to understand about air flow in intake and extracion

but hey if you decide to do more and you will always be able to find a buyer for your old ones

i know the rpw ones are better but the price i was given was $605 plus postage and instillation so it would have been a **** load more that what i got. i also didnt get the headers and flex pipe at the same time which made it easier. they have given me a great gain and i dont plan on doing any more mods to my car.what you are saying is right though that if you plan on having a kick *** NA car then deffenetly go for the rpw gear.
