I know it's not a Lancer...

I know it's not a Lancer, but has anyone got any comments on the VRX Magna? I've been lookin at getting more beef from the Lancer or trading up to a Magna for a while, but the Vrx is the only one I like the look of.. short of the Ralliart.

I've found one for sale.. 2000 model, 74,000kms, 1 owner (50yr old business man), 18" chrome mags with 2 new tires, immaculate through out, & TRACTION control!. But the best part... $20500! I've never seen a stock example for less then $27000!

I drove it, but didn't get a chance to give it much of a squirt, or put it through a round-about, so can anyone tell me what they go/ handle like?
Any other comments on the VRX or Magna in general most welcome!

I have a 2001 Magna Sports, they are the same as the VRX except the traction controll. Awsome car, I have the 5spd manual so its even better! Can't fault them really.
$20500, jump on that one. You will not find a better price than that. I will be selling mine soon.

That's a good price. Is it a tiptronic or manual? Finally drove a tiptronic last week. Didn't like it. Feels more like a toy.

TIPTRONIC unfortunately, but I guess I'd get used to it quick smart. As u said, for that price I should jump at it, but I'm not 100% sure I want to fork out the extra $$$ to upgrade... Guess I'm just scared it'll take ages to sell the lancer, to pay back the majority of the loan.

Personally I'd go a manual everytime. More fun, real control and less drivetrain loss. If I found a cheap TJ manual, I don't know if I'd buy it. My 3.0 has more power, (somehow?). Wouldn't mind the nicer newer car though.

When mitsubishi had that round the Australia trip thing, they came to our town, an i got to give the Ralli-Art Magna, and the new AWD Magna.. personally, i did love the drive of the Ralliart one, but i liked the comfort of the AWd Magna..

Get it while its cheap !

Yeah, test drove an AWD and could feel the difference with the rears pushing around a few corners but pity it was tiptronic.

Yeah, the tiptronic was the one i drove.. after a few heartfelt moments in traffic, i adjusted to it. although i keep hitting my clutch foot in the footwell  just a habit i guess :)
