AMS Carbon Fiber roof being installed
Most people have not really had a chance to see our CF roof up close and personal. Yesterday Ivan did an amazing job putting one on our customer Steve's Black Evo IX. I thought I would share these with you to really see how great this looks and how well it all fits.

Are there problems with holding the body "square" during the removal of the OE roof and installation of this one?
Is this roof as structurally supportive as the OE roof given it's glued and riveted (looks like 25-30 rivets...)? It looks like this owner has a 4 point roll-bar maybe which would help with rigidity some? I wouldn't be installing a cage/roll-bar...
Rigidity afterwards: torsional, longitudinal, lateral?
Any difficulties with re-installation of front and rear glass?
You guys do the installation of this now? Your prices in line with body-shop prices mentioned above? Cheaper if the trim/headliner is pre-stripped?
Hopefully late this year I will be nixing my boat-anchor-like sunroof..

I will leave the EVO X discussion for our other threads about the car.
This piece is actually stronger then the stock piece for structural integrity. Our roofs are a carbon kevlar weave and were actually designed for our Time attack car to shed some weight stiffen the chassis. It just looked so nice when we finished it that we should "hey, we should sell these things"
It is 7 pounds lighter then the MR Aluminum roof.

The body will not move with the roof removed. The roof itself lends very little structural support to the car. The strength is in the A B C pillars and roof channel that connect them. On a non sunroof car, the only thing that is actually removed is the roof skin and one side to side support in the center of the roof. The side to side support is likely there to keep the roofs curved shape and keep it from flexing.
The factory steel roofs are spot welded to the chassis of the car. Aluminum roofs are bonded and riveted. We bond and rivet the carbon roof just like a factory aluminum roof. The carbon roof is stronger than the steel roof and MUCH stronger than the aluminum roof. What you end up with is a stronger and stiffer than factory.
Glass goes back in just like factory.
