Yellow foglights and Tinting Taillights
Hey guys,
I was just wondering for most of the people that have yellow foglights, how'd you do it? I've heard that some people paint it, but I was looking at this website and was wondering if people used the yellow overlay to do it. (although i dont wanna order an entire roll and use it on 2 small lights)
http://www.decalfx.com/yellow_headlight_film.html
and as for tinting the tailights, I was wondering if thats legal in canada? and aside from that, should i tint it, or as shown in the site above, buy a smoked overlay and do that? My lancer is black so I want to darken the tailights, but not too much. Out of curiousity, do people tint/smoke their front headlights as well? Any help would be great, thanks!

Fog light titns don't melt!! Lol! I had them for over a year and they never melted. I might b picking some vinyl up from shinzo since he doesn't havbe time to do small jobs. So if anyone wants this stuff done, or the blacked out front, holla at me.
Here to help out. Also, I've had the dark tint on my tails from a looooong time ago and have never been bothered about it. Hydrolikz has had his headlights tinted with light smoke and he hasn't had a prob with that either, ur call though.

foglight tints DO NOT melt. halogens are by no means hot enough to melt the tint films.
Yellow Fogs --> get a pair of Nokya bulbs they are about $35 at First Markham Place, problem solved. installation takes about 10 mins
I do believe if your headlights are tinted too dark they will give you a hard time. If its just slightly smoked, you might be able to get away with it given the color of your headlight does not change too much

ok i have experience with both fog light tints from shinzo and also the eurolite 2500k yellow h11 bulbs heres the deal:
the effect is the SAME. the film costs $10, the bulbs cost $25 at pmall, the difference is that if you have the film the whole casing looks yellow even when your lights are off, whereas if you have yellow bulbs, it is not as noticeable but gives off the same effect when they are on. It is actually quite hard to distinguish whether someone has fog lights or film from across the street. For the most yellow effect, do both. Healight tinting is illegal in ontario, however something like a yellow foglight tint you wont be able to notice its even tinted, it makes the foglight look like the inside of the casing is yellow.
I would say, get the film first, its only 10 bucks, take your time putting it on. once your stock h11 fogs burn out, switch to the nokya or eurolite bulbs. make sure u dont buy fake ones
as for painting your bulbs... im not expert on the subject, but i thought the surface of the bulb is very delicate and you shouldnt get any grease or oil on it, let alone paint..

Nothing yet. Tinting tail lights isn't necessary illegal unless you cannot see the red shine through for a min of 1000m. if the lights can be seen from at least 1000m (1km) your fine. That's one restriction of the Ontario HTA with regards to lights on a vehcile. I been stopped thrice by OPP and never have they said anything about the tail lights, its usually the offset front plate.

i bought new yellow bulbs from ebay for about 15 bucks. they look great at night and take a minute to replace. i would think you could get away with minimal tint on the headlights, not sure how canadian cops are.
