Daytime Running Lights (IX EVO)

Well, I couldn't be happier that my 2006 MR will be here tomorrow from California. I have however had a great deal of difficulty finding any information about how best to wire Daytime Running Lights. I bought a module for my American miata and it was plug and play—doesn't seem like this exists for these cars.

If anyone has any information/links that would help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

And yes I have searched a bunch!

GL OP.

A couple of the forum members here did it by themselves.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy the evo!

many Evo VIII/IX owners in Canada just rewire their fog lights as DRLs

I used fog lights. Simple quick setup here..

Remove plugs from foglights, you dont need them right now.

Buy female spade connectors,4 or 5 prong relay, some wire, and a vampire connector.

Run wire from battery to relay, relay to first fog light prong, then the second prong on the fog light goes the the next fog light, then ground the other prong on the second fog light (wired in series)

Ground the Relay, Run a wire from the ignition source to the relay to trigger it.

So now when you turn on the ignition, power will go from the battery to the relay and turn the fog lights on!

Then remove when your done.

Make sense?

I'd say just keep em, they're required for a reason (presumably). Also helps you not being bothered by police.

cool thanks for the link raptord.

so along with DRLs, you also need child tether anchorages and metric speedometer conversions in order to pass inspection?

+1 With my old car... just use common sense and turn on your lowbeams when it's raining or starting to get dark... heck, I run my HID's even in boraddaylight nowadays.

The irony comes when their cars don't even have DRL's... Most of them don't even notice even here in Canada. In the states, 90% of cars don't have them anyways.
