3M film for Lancer?

Most likely the residue will cause the film to lift. It doesn't take much for the
Edges of 3m film to lift, yellow over time and frequent car washes or different weather conditions cause condensation occurs. I'd ask whomever is doing ur undercoating, to cover up the edges of ur fenders with masking tape, only takes couple seconds, and worth the hassle of getting new film put on in the future. Good luck!

Masking tape sounds like a good idea for the application.
I'm going to do it myself with the help of a neighbor mechanic in his garage. We are going to do a careful job with small paint brushes, so I'm pretty confident the job quality will be way over what you could expect from any shop for a fraction of the price!
I was more concerned about long term exposure, you know when oil seeps and stains the low end of doors, rocker panels and etc...I guess keeping the car clean and not allowing this to happen will be more than enough the keep the films in good condition.
I don't expect those films to stay in perfect condition for more than a couple of years, but i'll try to keep them as long as possible! So far, I'm pretty satisfied with the product. If it can protect the car for 2-3 years from rock projections, that's better than nothing...
Thanks for the help!

Since the bumpers are plastic, I don't see any interest in having them covered. Especially for that price....maybe I wouldn't mind if it was only 50$ more but even...
You may get scratches on your bumber, but it won't chip and eventually rust.
Not to mention, the odds of being rear-ended or rear-ending someone in a 5 year span are relatively high. You'll get a new bumper then, so why bother?
(I was rear-ended after 3 months of ownership...)
That's my 2 cents.
