Banned from 2 dealerships in 1 day!

Thought I would post this for some laughs and to see what guys in the Edmonton area think.

Ok so most of you know that in June/July I went to Northside Mitsubishi and i traded my 05 SRT-10 QC in for a 2011 EvoX GSR. Truck had 94,000km on it and the transmission was started to slip. I got quoted $550 for parts (master rebuild kit) and $1300 labour to install it from the Derrick Dodge dealership where i bought my truck. Was getting around those prices at other shops as well.
So when i did the deal for the Evo i told Kenn (the sales guy) that the transmission was slipping in 2nd. Brian (sales manager) took the truck for a test drive, said no issues with it and signed off on it. So i told Kenn i wanted the 3m rock gaurd on my front bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors ($700)

Day came to pick my car up, first thing i noticed was only the hood had a small strip of the 3m tape. Went back the next day, talked to Kelly (finance manager) about it, she told me thats all i was entitled to. But yet my bill of sale was showing $600 and only the hood costs $160. So she got Brian to come over and talk to me, sure enough that went no wheres so Patt (General Manager) told me thats all I was getting and that it costs to much for the dealership to do the rest.... wtf? i dont care what the dealership pays, im getting charged $600 and only got $160 worth of the work. After arguing for awhile Patt started swearing and left the office. I told Kelly ill be back with a Lawyer....5mins later she came back and said they will do the whole front end. Hmm, funny how i mention lawyer and they do what im entitled to.
2 days later i pick the car up. Quickly look over the work and noticed a few issues but i was still pissed off so i let it go. After looking closely at it i noticed alot more issues. The tech didnt clean the bumper so bugs were stuck on it and he taped over them. The cuts were really uneven and he used a razor knife and cut the paint all the way down to the plastic of the bumper on a few spots....heres 2 pics...

So i had enough of them, went and spoke with Garret (Service Manager) and asked if they will pay another shop that I trust to redo the work because im not letting the dealership touch my car ever again. He said no, they will redo the work under warrenty. The same time Brian came up to me and asked if I knew the truck had transmission issues. I said yes and that I told Kenn. I asked why and he said "because we sold the truck to Great West Chrysler and they just did the repairs on the transmission and they sent us the bill for $8000. I laughed and asked where the truck was now and he said at Great West Chrysler. So i took a drive down...truck was no wheres to be found. So i went in and talked to a Sales Manager, Service Manager and the techs that did the work. Only work done to my truck was a safety inspection. They said they could feel the transmission slipping in second gear but no work order was made and nothing was sent to Northside Mitsubishi. They even showed me the files on the computer of the work on the truck. It showed the safety inspection and then before that is when I went in to get my A/C recharged. So i asked where the truck was and they said we sold it 2 weeks ago at a auction.

So I had enough with Northside Mitsubishi and I filed a complaint with AMVIC. 2 days ago I got a call from the piece officer that was doing the investigation. He said he cant fine the dealership on poor craftsmenship and damage to my bumper, i have to go to civil court for that. He said if i called AMVIC when the dealership first tried to screw me over with just doing the hood and tried to steal $440 from me then they could have been charged.

I went back to Northside and asked to speak to the GM. He informed me that since I made the complaint they are no longer doing "good will" deals for me...ie, redoing my 3m tape. A. i could care less because they were never going to touch my car again. and B. "good will" no, thats warrenty that im paying for. So he seen that I didnt care about that, he then informs me that he has the right to revoke the manufactors warrenty on the car and that he has done so....yea right....

So we get talking about when they first tried to screw me over and tried to steal $440 from me. I asked him about that and he blamed the whole thing on Kelly. He said "Kelly wrote on your bill of sale $600 and then told the techs to only do the hood, thats why she was fired 2 weeks after you bought he car" I said "if that was true, then why were you saying for $600 all i was entitled to was the hood, when you poster on the wall says its $160 for the hood. Where was the other $440 going?" He said "thats profit, thats how dealerships make money" I looked at and said "what? so you steal my $440 and thats profit?" he claimed it wasnt stealing.... i know i didnt do good in math in school but when you pay the dealership $600 for 3m tape and they only do $160 worth of work and they keep the other $440...that something is ****ed up.

So he came right back and said "well basically you stole $6000 from us because you lied about the transmission and now i have to fork out $6000 to fix it" I said "wait, its $6000 now? and its not fixed" he said yes. I asked "Brian told me 3-4 weeks ago it was $8000 and it was fixed, and yet when i went to the dealership they called you guys full of ****"
He then started back paddling and saying "well the truck went to the auction but couldnt get sold because the issue with the transmission and we have the right to sue you for the $6000 since you lied to us about it"
I jumped out of my chair and started yelling at him, i said "for one, i told kenn the day i came in this dealership that one of the reasons im getting rid of the truck is because the transmission is slipping and it cant handle the power i want to throw at it and second, it doesnt cost $6000 to fix it, it costs $550 for parts and $1300 labour"
He laugh and said "oh what you are a mechanic now? I said to him "well I drive a 46 ton tank in the army, i have to maintain it so I do have mechanical skills, and the quote i got was from Derrick Dodge"
Once again he went back to me lieing to them, blah blah blah. So i asked where the truck was at and he said back at Great West Chrysler. So i got up and said "i dont know how you are a gm of a dealership, with the way you run things im surprised no one has knocked you out before"

Drove down to the dealership and asked for the GM. While I was waiting I was talking to a few guys and they told me the truck was sold a long time ago and it never came back (i checked for myself and sure enough it wasnt there). Sales manager came up to me and said 'GM will not seen you, he just got off the phone with Patt from Northside Mitsubishi and since you threatend to knock him the **** out, he has banned you from their and any dealerships associated with the deal, which means this one, please leave the property now, if you want any information from us please bring a lawyer"
wow, really? patt had to lie saying i threatend him because i caught him on so many lies and banned me from 2 dealerships?
So i was told by a few people to make a complaint against Northside Mitsubishi with Mitsubishi Motors of North America. Unfortunely they are closed for the holidays and I head to afghanistan on Wed until March. So all this will have to go on hold until I return.

So what do you guys think?

Awful.... Just awful.

If I were you I would start drafting a letter in this thread and have the community help you write it out in a way that will get you what you want from corporate. If you write the right letter, you'll get your clear bra redone and that guy will probably get fired.

I just did that to the manager at the local ATT store just a few weeks ago, and damn, it is rewarding.

I could feel my blood pressure rising just reading this thread. You are lucky you have self restraint because I would be out of my seat throwing copy machines at the sale rep. I really wish you brought a voice recorder and had everything documented. I wish you the best of luck this situation and hopefully it doesn't give you a heart attack.

Ok, Im a car salesman and I like to explain your situation. One carsalesman are not *******s. The managers and especially the finance managers are. I cant even tell you the amount of money finance managers steal from my customers daily. Its disgusting and I could never do it. If you want to get back at this dealership you have two ways you can. If you used that dealership for financing pay that loan off with another from a private bank. Finance managers can hold interest rates and tell you you got approved for a 10% loan when you really got approved for a 4%. all that profit goes into the managers and finance managers pockets. Another way is to cancel any warranties including gap insurence if you got it. If you cancel them they are required to pay back the dealership and banks they made money off of. I hope this helps

Oh and that manger that said he has the right to cancel a warrenty is full of ****. If you go to small claims court they always side with the customer.

I used to get excited about car shopping (getting a new car should be a fun time right??) but stealerships really have a way of sucking all of the fun out of the experience... and it doesn't take them long either. Usually the excitement turns into frustration and misery two minutes after sitting down in one of those cushy chairs to discuss price.

Wow, and I thought the dealerships in BC were bad! I never let dealerships touch my car once it's off the lot.
