Tire Prices
Hey all....on one of my tires of my lancer 2003 rally, the sidewall is cracked....and I need a new tire....Is $192 (install and tax included) a good price to replace the one tire? If not....where can I go? Thanks....

umm, for 1 tire? you can pickup "ok" tires for like 60-70$. I would go for a matched tire for the rest but you will get odd tire wear. always recomended replacing the opisite side aswell,

Try this guy:
Triple Service Automotive
3300 Mavis road Mississauga
905-275-3151
They've always given me good prices on Pirelli's before when I had my Nissan.
They are of course more expensive than Canadian Tire's Motomaster but they are Pirelli's.
I'm not sure he'll remember me but mention Dennis Sunga with the black Nissan sent you............ then duck for cover.

What size is your tires. 4 seasons, summer ? stock is 195 60 15 Yokoma or Dunlops SP 120 I believe for an '03 OZ. Shouldn't be more than $85 for run of the mill stuff. Walmart has the best prices believe it or not, they even can order Toyos and their Kuhmo line is very affordable like under $60 for the stock sizes !
Heres some things to remember about tyres:
1. 4 seasons have road hazard warranty, winter and summer tyres do not !
2. Bridgstone makes Firestone and BF Goodrich
3. Sumitomo(my fav brand if you can find them) makes Dunlops, Rikken
4. Kelly makes just about everything American, Cooper, Douglas, General, America, Pacemark
5. Hankook makes Kuhmo(lower line) excellent tyres for price/performance
6. Priellis overpriced and overrated
7. Michelins overpriced, but well worth it
8. Contenntial if your drive a Mercedes

I found Dunlop slips a lot. No grip on the road. My Nissan before came standard with Dunlop (instead of the Michelin on a previous Nissan). Even on dry road, they slip on regular driving (not trying to make jackrabbit starts). My brother has the same opinion on dunlop when he had that on his tires.
I didn't mind the Michelin but prefer the Pirelli.
Just my opinion.

I got the dunlop SP 20 FE stock and they're pretty bad. In winter they are complete crap. Hell they even slide on dry pavement. Guess thats what you get with an economy car though. Gonna upgrade the BF Goodrich Traction T/As in like 2 months though. Hopefully the tirerack reviews are right.

Well, as with any brand that has a lower end line(Stock SP 20), don't expect them to perform as well as their higher end products. Dunlop's higher end products like their A2 perform just as well as any of the more known brands.

went to tiure world to get some used tires on my car. The beed came apart from the rim when I was driving. Im mad.
Looks like it was rethreaded improperly, but I still would not trust a rethreaded tire today since its a very complicated procedure to do it right and only feasible for large big equipment tires that don't need high speed use.
