Things to do in Vancouver for New Year's
Greetings to all,
I am going up to Vancouver BC for the New Year's weekend and was wondering what fun things there are to do there. I've never been there except one night I tried to go up there on a Saturday night, and it ended up being Sunday morning 4am when the border people finally let me through :crap: Anyway, I would love any suggestions you might have. Thanks in advance! |
wooooooo hooooooooooo sounds fun :)

Vancouver is neat place, hardly any litter on the streets because they tend to give a $hit up there....
Tune into to the Co-Op radio 102.7 you’ll know when & where the party starts. Check out Stanley Park or the Anthropology Museum @ UBC Watch the sunset from Wreck Beach (UBC) Drink @ the Cambie but don't park there or stay the night unless you really like to party.:drink: Check out Zulu Records, it's the schiz. If you have time drive up to Whistler. |

Well I just got back from Vancouver last night. We had a blast just being in the city. Vancouver is , I'm sorry to say, the nicest, most modern, friendliest, coolest city I've ever visited. Even Seattle isn't as cool as Vancouver. Not many people were gawking at my car either like I was expecting. I guess in Vancouver you have to have a Hamann tuned 6 series BMW or Porsche Turbo S or Ferrari 355 or 360 or something like that in order to be noticed. Yes, I saw all of those cars downtown or parked at the hotel! There must be a lot of $$ in Vancouver. I've never seen so many Infiniti G35s, BMWs, Mercedes, and Audis in all my life.
If anyone is thinking of going to Vancouver, GO! It's awesome. If only Canada wasn't socialist with a 14% sales tax and a ban on handguns . In the paper there was a machete attack! What the hell are people supposed to defend themselves from machetes with? Guns aren't the problem, the violent criminals are! |
Yeah Vancouvers a rich city, if you stay in the right place. I think its the lower east side or something like that, where they have a HUGE drug problem. We canadians tend not to gawk too much at cars, we're perfectly happy just taking a look and then discussing it with people afterwards. As for socialist, we have free healthcare, so I think its a nice trade off, pay 14% and get some medical attention. I don't think there's a ban on handguns, it's simply on concealed weapons. If you have a handgun in your house thats fine, but you can't walk around with it. Better off with a small knife, if the blades under 6', your fine. Should come out to Calgary, sorta like Vancouver in terms of wealth, but we got the mountains only an hour away, as well as the Stampede if you come at the right time.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention the coolest car I saw there. Some guy in a blue Escort Cosworth RS was ripping around downtown. Ultra-Cool!
