What you have to do is in the sticky. You will also want to contact the MTO (ministry of transportation Ontario)

u know what i mean right? |
After 6 months you either have to register the vehicle in your current location or go home, there is a way around it....go to the states every 6 months.
|
but i heard the border monitors u going back every so often and i heard its 3 months
|
Well you would want to check with MTO, but I thought it was 6 because I'm pretty sure that is the time frame for when you have to change your plates.
|
i was telling my friend the idea cause my parents have a place in Las Vegas and he doesnt think the idea would fly
the customs/border ppl would flag it.... |
this is a late as reply but when you guys mean "go back to the states"...what does that mean..ie; cross the border for say a weekend then come back??? or go back to the states for a good amount of time til i come back and "visit" ?

READ ALL THE IMPORTING EVOS TO CANADA POSTS. ITS THE SAME IMPORT THE CAR ONLY IF ITS NOT ON THE EXCEPTIONS LIST. OTHERWISE ITS THE SAME RULES AS THE EVO VIII's

the dealer ship actually told me there is a way to bring the evo up here. bought registered and insured in states braught up here can pass the canadian requirements by buying a front end bumper frame that protects the intercooler that is sold only in cali. they said it is pretty pricey though.5-10k roughly. then it passes canadas saftey standards. dont know if true but this is what was told. apparently some people in canada have done it made it legit and then swaped back on the original front bumper.

what dealership told u this? was it southside mitsubishi? cause i call bull****...
|
yeah southside. like i said dont know if true or not but just something i heard.
|
why didnt u loook further into this?
