maintenance...
I guys,i'm looking to get an EVO VII/IX and i was wondering if getting parts is a problem.
Where to get maintenance? By the way i'm located in Montreal.QC Thank's Ben |
most typical parts are becoming locally available.
If not the special parts car be ordered from the US. I know plenty of shops that can execute the work if need be. I am in Montreal with a X. |
most maintenance stuff, you can DIY. if not, its up to you to find a dealer or a mechanic who you would want to get under your evo.
sourcing parts is a bigger problem. i use this vendor for maintenance parts, as i stick with the oem fluids. and i buy my motor oil from superstore. :D if you want to go aftermarket, you will need to go to the states for specific evo parts (ie: fluids ad replacement parts). a local dealer might carry them or able to get them parts for you, but they might charge you an arm and a leg for them. i have the viii, and im from vancouver, bc |
im from Fredericton NB and whenever i get parts for my IX i get them sent to Maine at a post office box i have there,. and pay the tax at the border, or else you'll get reamed with brokerage fees....
made the mistake of that when i got my clutch. ACT XTSS and prolite flywheel cost me 150 bucks in brokerage |
You would be surprised how competitive some local shops are.
Perry Performance in Montreal has a ton of stuff in stock and has great pricing. Don't always have to shop across the border. |
