2008 GSR. 91 Octane K/N Filter Stage 1 or 2?

I've been reading around this and other forums and it seems that stage 2 LWG is a popular option even on the stock system. I have a K/N Drop in Filter in the car and I've been debating the buying the Cobb AP since I purchased the vehicle last September. My question is does anybody have the same setup? should I put the stock filter back in if I plan on buying the AP. I'd like to be able to do the stage 2 LWG option as it seems like an awesome power gain from the stock vehicle. Is this dangerous to my car?

Stock or stock + intake (full intake or drop-in air filter) = Stage 1

The Stage 1 maps are perfectly safe with a K&N drop-in on an otherwise stock car.

I understand that's what its designed for but I've read that several people have done it anyway. Reason why I asked is because it had higher power gains. Installed stage 1.

It's definitely do at your own risk type of thing. I'm not sure why you'd want to run a map that wasn't designed for your setup though, that just doesn't make sense. People on the internet say a lot of things, pick and chose very carefully which you listen to and follow advice from.
