mixed feelings about AP

I recently purchased a used Cobb AP and installed the stage 1 AEM CA 91 map. I was waiting for the "wow" feeling when i took a test drive, but sadly, i only noticed a slight difference. I was like, hmmm, that's it?

Person I purchased from advised me to use virtual dyno and log data before and after so I can see the difference. I guess there's no more before since I already installed a map.

My mods are pretty lightweight:
AEM intake
Fujitsubo CBE
UICP

I guess custom tune is the way to go. I think the beauty of the AP is it "tuned" my car for the intake to be on the safe side.

I felt the same way when I installed the stage 1 v1.08 map. I was unimpressed and went back to stock after a while. I am currently running a v2 stage 1 map and the difference between the new and old map was night and day.

Just the release version of the stage 1 map. Like iphone 4 to iphone 5...

They are pulling the V2 maps because they aren't "viable". Whatever that means.

You need to be looking at their forums. (Un)Official support for the 2011 and 2012 models comes from postings in their forums.

stage one is just to make your mivec more aggressive and making ur intake work.

if you flash stage 2 on your car, you would feel the difference. a lot of people are flashing stage 2 on their rides even if they dont have stage 2 parts yet.

^which is silly. Unless the logs look good. Why not just get the parts and feel the boost.

stg 1 has knock issues with v108 maps stg 2 works better but you generally need to run stg 2 lwg maps if you dont have a hfc or test pipe.

all the hfc's on the market are of good quality and you cant really go wrong so for me it came down to cost and it seems like to me the cobb HFC was the cheapest as far as price. However it looks like it should be on display its that nice of a piece.
