Got 1 knock count on Cobb Ap

So I was viewing the knock count on my Cobb ap while drive and it said 1 knock count. Is this bad? I'm not too sure what this means exactly? Thanks

1-2 knocks r nothing really, when it's 4 and up, then be worried especially if it's in the same rpm every time.

Could be a possibility but I highly doubt it. The chatter could be from the transmission, though.

R u tuned on the Cobb OTS maps? Running too rich could also cause knock. The ots maps r rich as hell, I know coz Im using Cobb AP. I'm Using their maps as a base, but I'm tuning it so the afr isn't as rich as their OTS maps. Their OTS maps r running at 10-10.5 afr.

U gotta remember, OTS maps r made to cover a wide array of cars and they have to be on the safe side of the tune...that's why they make the afr so rich.

You're fine man. Really 3 and under is fine if it's just randomly...

Typically it's what's called "phantom knock", the knock sensor senses vibrations in the engine assembly if something it out of whack it triggers the knock sensor... Not only that but a lot of "good" tuning software will have an alternate safer ignition and fuel map. At a certain moment if knock ever goes over a certain threshold it will switch to the alternate safer maps until the knock has subsided.

Question

^
On your 3rd or 4th gear pulls if you are 3 or less you are ok. I know before on my old evo 8 3 and up and the ecu pulls timing, lowers boost, and richens up the afr's until knock goes away. Not sure how it is for the newer X's, I just recently got one myself. Maybe same thing still?

Good thread.

I see knock between 1-3 on hard WOT pulls sometimes. Doesn't happen on repeated logs at the same rpm range. Definitely seeing 1 count of knock isn't something to worry about. Most likely it is road vibration or shifting vibes.
