Cobb AccessPort Status

I just bout a Cobb Accessport v3 and done a lot of reading of older posts to catch up on the history of this product. I thought I would put all of the information in one thread to correct any information this is incorrect and help others.

Software
Cobb has 3 software offerings.
1. Accessport Manager
Allows customers to change to different Off The Shelf (OTS) maps. The maps are rather limited and are typically for Cobb products only. For example, they provide maps for their intakes but not for a competitor. They have the MAF scaling information but have chosen not to provide the maps to the public.

At one time, they had a map database with hundreds of maps for free. This apparently got removed.

2. Access Tuner
This was taken off the market on 5/9/2016 to be "retooled". This software allows customers far more control over creating an managing maps. It is available for other vehicles still but now it costs an additional $150 to take a class before you can receive the software. Again, not available for the EVO X.

3. Access Tuner Pro
Available only for licensed resellers. This software allows a user to create a map that is locked to a single AccessPort of make it available to all.

Why?
If you want to use the AccessPort for anything that isn't in the Cobb stages, you have to visit a licensed Cobb reseller. I think Cobb is protecting their resellers and the revenue they get from resellers. They would rather have an army of resellers than customers tuning their cars directly.
