New times with cams and exhuast.

2005 EVO
HKS 272's , Megan Racing TBE, K&N drop in, MR BOV, EBC @ 20psi droping to 16psi by redline. Everything else is stock NO flash or s-afc.

I went to perris speedway (1/8th) on friday night. Let me know what you guys think.

1st 1.655 60ft , 7.951 , 85.14mph 5750rpm dump
2nd 1.750 60ft , 7.922 , 87.51mph 6000rpm dump spun the tires
3rd 1.635 60ft , 7.896 , 86.19mph 5600-5700rpm dump
4th 1.670 60ft , 7.904 , 86.48mph 5600-5700rpm dump

Im pretty pumped that im cutting 1.6's now. Cams seem to suck in alot more air. I think if I turned my boost up to spike 24-25psi and fall to 19psi by redline I could have gone faster. I think its time that I get my car tuned.

With 272s you should def. get the car tuned, 87MPH is a good MPH for the 8th tho.

Your 60fts are on target aswell

Incredible 60's. Just don't expect parts to last long with those dumps. The clutch may go before taking out the TC, but either way, one of them will go in a hurry with those dumps. Amazing 60's nonetheless. You definitely need to get tuned. You're really short on power with those mods, so with a tune, you will be rocking.

I wouldn't recommend your idea of hitting 24-25psi on straight 91oct, though. That would be a very bad idea. Great mod choices so far, though. Only thing different on my car is the MBC instead of EBC, but that's irrelevant. I think with a tune, you'll see 7.7s and 88mph in the 1/8th. For reference, my 12.26@110 on 93oct (no cams) was a 7.76@88.3 @ 21-22psi (drops no lower than 19 after redline).

It's a fast spike of 24-25psi and I will be runing 100oct to help control any knock I may see during the spike. The 5600-5700 dumps spins the tires nice and doesnt put too much strain on the drivetrain. Whats the factory warranty for if you play it safe all the time?

Both timeslips are in my sig. I have it linked, but I guess people don't notice.

7.64@90.87 on the 12.000.

Oh, you can do the 24-25psi deal on race gas, but you didn't mention race gas. You said you were using 91oct, then mentioned that you might crank up the boost to 24-25psi, but didn't mention adding race gas to compensate. If you do that, you'll be good.

So you're dumping and spinning, but cutting 1.63-1.65? That's baffling to me. If I spin, I get terrible 60's. I only get my 1.6s when I hook fully...maybe the slightest bit of spin from the front tires, but when all 4 light up, it's a useless run.

Im spinning enough to get sideways on take off. I always try to go through the water box and get my tires a little wet so I know Ill brake loose. I dumped at 6k on one of my runs and it hurt my 60ft 1.7 vs my 1.6's. My buddy was with me in his IX and was cutting 1.8's and 1.7's using the same method. Im cursious to see what I run in the 1/4th how I sit now. I know my car pulls hard up top and I picked up 25.5mph in the back half last time I went. Im wondering if it will be stronger this time out or not without a tune.

Yeah, going sideways should definitely kill your 60's. I dont' know how you're getting insane 60's without a perfectly linear, perfectly hooked launch. LIke I said, when I spin all 4, or especially when I kick sideways, I get 1.8s and 1.9s. Also, if I dump, I basically sit still spinning in place, haha.

I'm sure you'll be stronger on the top end tha nbefore with cams, but you won't necessarily pick up more than 25.5mph on the back half. Y0u may continue to pick up that much, but remember your at a higher mph already, so don't be discouraged.

84 -> 109
87 -> 112-113

Looks like a 12.2 or 12.3 to me. On previous attempts, I've done 7.9@86.5 en route to a 12.52@108.5, but you pick up a lot more power on the top end, so that might clip off a tenth or two in 1/4-mile ET.

Ill be going to fontana on the 14th to see my 1/4th. I hope I can continue to hit 1.6's 60ft's. I think im in need of a tune badly the cams and exhuast really didn't impact my time like I would have thought. For instance 7.904 @ 86.48 with a 1.670 60ft vs No cams or exhuast 8.192 @ 84.13 with a 1.892 60ft. Not much of a differnce for what I have added.

thats because you need a tune to maximize all the air your taking in now. right now you just might be around 260-270 whp with a tune you'll be over 300

Very impressive times indeed. Those 1/8 mile times truly reflect that you are in the low to mid 12 sec in the 1/4 mile.

Can I ask you where did you run your car? Last but not least, your 60' numbers are great, as Warrtalon said, don't expect you clutch to last much.
