Another 11 second in car vid with burnout

Went to the track again this weekend and ran a number of mid 11 second passes with 1.75-1.8 60's. My RA-1's should be here this week so the 60's should be dropping soon.

Nice, but it would be nice to see at what rpm's you are shifting...

We should compare logs.

When I made my 11.7 pass this weekend, I learned something with the shifting points. It made a big difference!

Hopefully next time I go there won't be a head wind and I'll remember to bring my tire gauge with me.

Why hide shift points? Let everyone know if something works. I am sure other people would like to benifit.

what good are shift points without a torque curve? and whats the point of shifting before redline unless of course your torque drops off more than the gears torque multiplication makes up for?

I wasn't really hiding them and that is why I joked and said top secret. It is difficult to tell even from my logs exactly where the shift happens as I am usually no lift shifting.

Other variables like dexmix pointed out, will produce different results for different cars.

Here are my typical approximate shift points keeping in mind that I have a 6spd and my torque peaks at 4000rpm.

1st and 2nd - 7400rpm
3rd - 7200rpm
4th - 7000rpm

I hold 4th up to 8.2k.. I really think you would gain alot by holding 4th as high as you can comfortably. Id guess 8,500 or so which would let you trap at over 120. Just dont break it because of me

Oh

I didnt realize you actually tried it. That sucks... get a new gearset

I can ask Adam if he has any spares that he would let go for a reasonable price if you want.

This run was...
60' 1.751
330' 4.870
1/8 7.467 @ 95.20
1000 9.707
1/4 11.606 @ 118.71

I also ran an 11.59 @ 120.7 and an 11.65 @ 118.3 on a couple of my better runs. When I left it in fourth, I only ran an 11.8 @ 116.
