Hunting for 11's..... so close (VID)
This was taken tonight, the guy in the other lane is a co-worker of mine and there were about 10 other of my co-workers there tonight watching as the pounding commenced.
The car is tuned and built by me. I don't consider a tune your own until you actually do it yourself without the help of a "professional" tuner. If anyone wants to see my UTEC maps feel free to drop me a PM
Thanks to laakness for filming me tonight

That's not what I consider "oh so close." My 12.000 is, though.
12.15 is still quite a ways to go, but you're already making the power to do it, so it comes down to getting the hang of launching and shifting, and you're there.

Sorry didn't ask you. Please stay out of my threads.

Buschur Race FMIC

TurboXS UTEC w/ Tuner Pro
3" helix DP

3" Greddy Evo2 CB- still has the 2.75" neck down on it
ACT Extreme clutch

Forge UNOS MBC - light spring
HKS DLI II
Stock IC piping
I still have a few more shake down runs with tuning the car and rasing the boost even more. Im just happy that this is a consistant low 12's car. The tuning is still very mild along with the afr's, I could go for broke and run a quite aggressive tune, but want to gradually get faster with a little more practice and time. I have all summer to break into the 11's, then 2007 will be the quest for 10's and so on.
My co-workers were a little stunned to see that type of car launch like that. After that run I sat down for a while and talked with everyone I knew there and my operations manager came up to me (huge Mopar/Chevy fan) and said to me quietly so no one else could hear him. "Wow that car is fast, but I really thought that george(Camero) was going to take you by the engine size difference."

He was kinda pissed, but in good humor. he had a bad night, his car wouldn't launch for some reason. The car is built for crusing not drag. He really needs slicks and a stall convertor to get that thing off the line. Im "old school" myself but got sick of breaking stuff all the time so I went with newer imports. Supra turbo, 300ZX TT, and now the Evo.
I am going out tuning today since it's nice out to see if I can't get a few more hp out of tuning.

just my 2 cents
A flashed ECU is still a stock ECU. Go ask Scott from TTP engineering...you know 11.2 on "stock ECU."
Anyway, just trying to help. Not sure why Dryad is so bitter towards me or why Silk jumped in with the lewd reference, but there are two truths here:
1) 12.15 is not "so close." It's not close at all if you understand drag racing. Just pointing that out.
2) You're already making the power to hit 11s, and you said nothing about needing practice in the first post before I responded.
If you cannot handle either of these truths, then I suggest not posting. Just trying to help, but it helps if you aren't so sensitive and thin-skinned.
Mack, I also said nothing about how many mods I had and how many mods he has. I went from 12.01 to 12.000. 12.01 is "so close," but even with an improvement in power, I still didn't hit 11s. Comparatively, 12.15 is eons away from 11s...

Nice runs man. I agree, its much more satisfying building and tuning a car yourself. I was so close to making the trip up to GLD last night. I checked the schedule and saw the highschool program was going on which always seems to turn the staging lanes into a parking lot. So I passed and going to try for next week sometime. Good luck with 11's though. They're definitely in your reach.
