Took the IX back to Atco Raceway tonight.

Well I have to say I did okay. I know it is hot out and the humidity was 100 and temp in mid 90"s. I figure I'd try again since I had my tune from Turbo Trix. I only ran twice, because something happen on the second run that kind of scared me a little. Tell me if this has ever happen to you. I had the engine rev to 8000 after I crossed the trap. I pushed in the clutch and put it in neutral. However the revs stay up near 8000 a good 10 to 15 second. I thought for sure something happen. I really thought I had a run away turbo, if there is such a thing. It scared the s*it out of me. I ask , is this normal after a tune and a TBE? BTW I'm running 24psi on 93oct. anyways here are my times. I think maybe the clutch slipped towards the end of the 1/4 mile on the second run. the absolute baro was 29.17

first run
R/T..... .084
60'..... 2.547
330.... 6.307
1/8..... 9.281
MPH.... 82.38
1000.... 11.810
1/4..... 13.922
MPH..... 106.66

second run
R/T.... .302
60'..... 2.112
330.... 5.680
1/8..... 8.662
MPH.... 80.82
1000..... 11.311
1/4..... 13.559
MPH.... 101.10

Can anyone tell me By these numbers what I should be able to get out of this car?

thanks for your input.

thanks
mike

Wow, just wow!!! I give you props on getting better, but damn those times are just horrible for your mods. Maybe drag racing just isn't your cup of tea, I believe the power is there, you just need to get better.

I did just as poorly when I went to E-Town... my best time of day was a 13.3 @ 108.XX MPH with a 2.3 60' time and with missing 3rd gear... and this too was on a hot and humid day...

that was only my second time to the track ever. I Would have ran again, but didn't know if there was something wrong with my car at the end of the second run. Also keep in mind I didn't use the 2 step lanuch, which is set at 6000k . I was told not to use it with the stock clutch by keith at Turbotrix.

Your launch is killing you. What are you leaving at? You shouldn't be able to rev to 8200 with the stock rev limiter. Definately not good. Also, 24psi seems very high for pump gas. I've heard 22psi is about as high you want to go. I'm not questioning TT's tune, it just seems that boost level is too high for straight 93.

Ouch man. No offense... but those are some of the worse numbers I have seen. Those look like stock 03 Evo VIII numbers. Your 60 foot should be no more than 1.8.... I generally get 1.7 in Tucson at 3100ft and 1.6 in phx at 2100ft. From the looks of it your launch is the big problem..... either you need some driving lessons or there is some tuning issues on your car. Again, not bringing it.... just telling it like it is.

Im waiting on mine until its cool out, but a buddy of mine just ran his G/F IX in Tucson. All it had was cat-back, br cone, mbc @ 21psi, and dynoflash. He ran 1.7 60ft 12.6@ 108 if I remember correctly. And that was at 3100ft with track temps well in excess of 100 degrees.

I am curious what gear you are going through the traps in that nets 8200 AND only 101-106mph. It seems every time I go through the lights at 109.1 its only taching 7300.

All that boost on pump gas, you sure you weren't pulling timing?

To answer your question... With your setup properly tuned.... Ive seen some farked up tunes man.... a good driver, good air quality and temps, and low altitudes I've seen them in the high 11s.

Higher altitudes and lesser quality air and temps should be low 12s.

his boost is fine, quit mentioning that. the IX has the revised coolant passages in the head making it less prone to knock and detonation. TT knows what they're doing, this is driver issues, im sure the car is fine. As far as the 8200rpm revving that is way to much, you may have damaged your motor.

John I was in 4th and @7200 crossing the trap. After I pushed in the clutch and put it in neutral. the rpm continued to go up and stay in 8100 rpm range for a good 10 seconds. Turbotrix said it was safe @24psi on 93 oct. I'm thinking about bringing it down to 22psi
