Evo IX 20G-LT

Well guys, finally got the car dialed in finally (ECUFlash) and decided to take a trip to the track. It really was a miserable day to drag race. Temps were 117 on the track and the humidity was 80% (track elevation 1000ft.) but the track prep was pretty good, alittle to good. The stock clutch was slipping badly off the line and was starting to slip in 4th at high rpm. So overall, not the greatest showing for the car but at least I made it out . Best car went 12.4X@113.XX with a crappy 1.83 60 foot (best 60 foot) and inlet temps around 132. I think it was going only 88mph through the 1/8th and hoping the cooler weather/new clutch will help out the traps. I will get the slip up although it is almost worthless. I am pretty disappointed but as they say, "thats racing". Mods are as follows:

-20G-LT no porting of the mani, no coating
-stock cams
-23psi, 20 till redline
-Buschur Deluxe FMIC
-O2 Housing
-Buschur TBE No Cat
-PBC-1 EBC
-My Flash, 93 Octane
-My Own 3" Intake

Slip breakdown:

60'-1.833
330'- 5.271
1/8'- 8.058
MPH- 89.26
1000- 10.46
1/4'- 12.46
MPH- 113.02

To put this into perspective, when I had just my flash, EBC and TBE I ran a 12.49@109 in 65 degree weather .

Given the conditions, low boost, and stock cams, i would say that is a very good slip! With cooler weather and cams, you should be comfortably in the 11's. A better 60ft would help alot too, but thats kinda hard with a slipping clutch.

Thanks for the comments. I have some Cosworth cams sitting on the workbench just waiting to go in. Just wanted to get the 20G somewhat close on the tune before I added the cams to the mix .

Also, my logs and tune are available if you want to look at or whatever. Although it took me a decent amount of time to get it where it is now, the only way to give to the community is to really give something . So drop a post here with your e-mail and I will get it over to you when I can .

No worries, with better weather, a new clutch and improved 60' times you have the potential to run 12.0 or high 11's!!!

Keep at it. Those definately were some high temperatures to be racing in. However, you have alot more power potential in your turbo setup.

i feel your pain man.... i ran the time in my sig, with the mods in my sig minus the cams and turbo. I installed the older 20G and i too couldnt hit anything better than a 12.4 ..... i wonder if it is the tune or the driving, or just the temps being so hot. my buddy last night ran an 11.8 with the same setup as me, but he cut an 11.6 with his stock ix turbo....so we both fell off some.

Thanks for the positives guys, much appreciated. I am hoping to give the clutch one last hoorah at the track and see if it will hold the power when it gets alittle cooler mid September. All I want is a 11 pass before the season is over and I think it is there. A cooler day, a low 1.7 60 foot and think it will get there and I am hoping there is more trap in it too, so far the logging software says there is something there :

times

Your times are very similar to my old set up,
my best was 12.33@113.7mph, 1.8 60ft time
My car is an evo 8 with a stock alloy wheel 9 turbo, mr cams, 1.6 bar peak boost,,
The car is now running up rated rods, 1.93 bar peak boost, gsc s1 cams, pullies, springs etc, carbon prop, twin plate clutch,
Hoping to get a 12 dead at 115mph, may need to raise my revs up from 7300rpm to nearer 7600rpm, going over the line and hitting the rev limiter in 4th,,
My car is a 5 speed box
