As close to getting kicked out as it gets - 11.51

Went South to PMI for some Friday evening TNT even though it was 97* when I arrived at the track. PMI is 1000' lower than Bandimere, so I was hoping to get a little extra speed on the traps while also hoping to actually get some good 60's in the groove.

I started out with an 11.66, which didn't seem great, but then the personal records started falling in succession. Here were my times for the night on the full runs:

11.663
11.662
11.621
11.565
11.562
11.550
11.536
11.524
11.510

Tried my damndest for that 11.49, but I never put that perfect run together. The best 60' was only a 1.65, and that was the 11.52. The 11.51 had a 1.66 but a little quicker shifting I guess. It was awesome being able to dial in an 11.55 for the bracket race, but I lost by a red light once again with a -.011, sheesh.

Not sure if there's much left to squeeze out. If I could learn to drop the 60's another tenth, then there's a whole other world out there to explore, but this is 2 tries at 2 tracks on the DRs, and I'm just doing mid 1.6s even with a 7k launch and minimal spin.

I may just have to push on your bumper at the tree to give you that little extra oomph on the 60 foot. Sorry I missed it tonight.

Damn Clayton,

You've been dragging the crap outta that car lately! Very dedicated!

But just to be an ***, 11.500 is the closest you can get! :P

Do these tracks have pretty rigid tech? A lot of time with cars like ours since they are so safe going down the track you can get away with going a lot faster.

It's possible they wouldn't have noticed or cared at this track, but the other one is pretty rigid.

Where you letting off at the end in bracket racing? Your trap speeds look even more out of place on these runs.

Good runs though. I need to get my pile back out to the track.

Nope, no letting off. I only got two runs in the competition. On the first, my opponent red lit, so I just took it easy. Then, on my 2nd run, I red lit by .011 as you can see in the slip on the left, so I just ran it out all the way. I thought that might be my 11.49, but I'm at the point where I shift so hard/fast that it comes down to mere hundredths that are determined by how perfectly I nail the shift. That one was a good 60', but either my mph wasn't quite as high, or my shifts were just not quite as optimal. I would have braked a little at the end if I hadn't have red-lit.

Yes, the traps are whacked. The left 1/8th is stupid high while the left 1/4 is stupid low. The right 1/8th is probably right, but the 1/4 is a little high (it normally is at this track).

I guess I could - I just figured 7k was already pushing it. Last night, I had a few launches where the car hooked enough from 7k to bog a little, so I guess I could have raised it some more. I'm just wary about launching from 7500, but I guess I have the right parts to try it.
