12.3 @ 112 last year...this year???
What's going on guys? Last year i ran my best time of a 12.3 @ 112mph on stock turbo & 93 oct...here is the break down of my slip...and yes i already know my 60 ft sucks...
r/t -- .381
60 -- 1.855
330 -- 5.237
1/8 -- 8.013
1000 -- ???? this track never lists 1000 time on their slips...i don't know...
1/4 -- 12.385
MPH -- 112.30
When i ran that time my mods as follows... QTP downpipe with cutout open during the run, 3 inch HFC, Buschur catback, AMS LICP, K&N cone filter, ACT 6 puck unsprung clutch, Fidanza flywheel, Forge MBC at 23 psi, walbro 255, and tuned by Scott @ TTP on a mustang dyno @ H&H in North Carolina. Scott tuned my car in 4th gear (6speed) and it put down 324whp. Also i was on some crappy 245 KDW tires which i either spun real bad or had bad wheel hop when i launched.
This year i added a couple parts and was retuned by Charlie aka Kreionic. I added a PPI ported & coated Exh. manifold & 10.5 hotisde, EPM 02 dump, Forge wastegate actuator, BC coilovers (which really won't matter unless i get them really well dialed in for drag racing), and some new 255 Rt-615 tires. I was tuned by Kreionic on a mustang dyno @ RS Speed Labs in South Carolina and put down 343whp after the new mods. Also i was tuned in 3rd gear this time instead of 4th gear like Scott did. Remind you this is stock turbo, 93 oct, stock intercooler & UICP, stock intake tube, stock intake manifold & TB, stock cams, etc. Once i get my alignment this week sometime and dial in the coilovers a little more i plan on going back to the 1/4 in a couple weeks to get some new times.
I know dyno #s are just #s and won't mean anything till i go to the track. I can say though that the car feels a lot stronger after the new mods and tune by Kreionic. I really wanted to hit high 11s with the car last year with the minimal mods i had but i still wasn't used to launching with my clutch yet the last time i went. I think if i was able to cut a low 1.7 60 ft i could have been knocking on high 11s last year. With a similar and hopefully lower 60 ft time i think i should have no problem hitting high 11s on pump gas this year.
So my question to you guys is what do you think a new estimated 1/4 mile time will be for me with the new mods and power? Remind you again this is stock turbo and will be done with 93 oct....Thanks for any input!

I forgot to post before that i was staying in 4th crossing through the 1/4 in my car. I was pretty high in 4th and probably need to shift to 5th if i can trap any higher speed next time i got to the 1/4. What is the highest speed i can go topping out 4th gear on the 1/4 mile in the 6 speed? I'm pretty sure the top 4th gear speed was somewhere around 115mph? Say if i were to raise my rev limiter a little bit, what is the highest i can safely rev my car to in 4th gear RPM wise? Thanks again...

haha, you will now find out how much it sucks to race the MR in the 1/4..I went through the same crap with my car..Ran 12.0@115 with only exhaust, bolt on IC, and tune..Then I added cams, intake, clutch, and BARELY managed an 11.9 but my 1/8th was way faster..Then I went to E85 and I am making as much boost as the turbo will allow at the track (27psi) started shifting to 5th and now I am at 11.60@118.7 with 96+mph in the 1/8th..
Breaking into the 11's is not easy with the 6 speed, I was knocking on high 11's for more trips to the track then I would care to remember lol..Good luck with it for sure, you'll need it!!
I am hoping to run the 5th gear out alot more when I upgrade the turbo and actually have my trap speeds comparible with my et's again..
Heres a tip, use your boost gauge as an indication of when to shift rather then the tach, with the close ratio 6 speed it will become apparent that when you shift into the next gear, the rpm's are almost too high to get any useable boost from the turbo and all you are doing is shifting into a boost spike, good times!
FYI my car just dyno'd 353hp and 370TQ at 30psi on a dyno that may possibly read lower then buschur racing's dyno lol..I have no doubt it will put down over 430 on one of the local dynojets..

Thanks for the input petey turbo....so your car at 27 psi and on e85 only made 353whp?? jesus...haha...that must be a ridiculously low reading dyno...
Anybody else have any input on my questions in the first 2 posts???

my guess is a 12.2@114.
Running 255 rt-615's over the 245 KDW is going to do NOTHING but slow you down. Traction may even get worse with the better tire. The lack of sidewall flex in the rt compared to the KDW will make launching more challenging and less consistent. You also have 40 more mm worth of tire to spin down the track.
And by the way, where in Flemington are you??? I don't see any GG IX's?
Petey Turbo, trapping 115mph with an exhaust, ic and tune must be some sort of record. I'm pretty sure of it. And think about it, cams, clutch and intake yielded one tenth?? Sounds super odd to me. You must have had an extremely aggressive initial tune or the track's timers were off that day...

You are referring to my 12.3 run correct? If i had a 1.6 60' with that run i would have had a 12.0-12.1? I definitely agree with you on that...
Yeah i would definitely like to go next week...i have 2 job interviews though...one on tuesday and one on thursday in columbia actually...haha...if next week doesn't work out for me with going to darlington with these interviews i will definitely go the week after...it will be a little colder too...so even better for us...

over 200 views now and not much input...anybody else have any other input??
I personally think if i can get my 60 fts down to low 1.7s and with the power it has now compared to my 12.3 run i should have no problem hitting an 11.9...also i plan on having a C16 map by the beginning of Nov. so i'm hoping to be able to hit around 11.7s or faster on C16...

to improve 60" time when launching hold up ur parking brake rev the car to the two step, release your clutch a bit till you start building boost before you start moving. when you build boost release the parking break and just drop the clutch! and ur off!!
