Today was a great day at the track for our "sardine can". We were runner up in the 9.0 index class at the Summer Slam @ E-town. Since we got rained out yesterday we only got one qualifier before eliminations. The car bogged bad and broke up in first gear on the qualifier and ran 10.1@155. Mark made a small change to get the car ready for the eliminations. First round we had a bye as the car we were suppose to run was a no show. Second round we ran 9.06@158 against Jesus Padilla's RX-7. We then had to run NRG-techs Civic which had just laid down a 9.0x@16x. Miller killed me on the tree and we ran 9.14@160 to his 9.10@166. In eliminations they called us right back to the lanes. Our passes were 40 minute apart. So we hotlapped the car and she performed flawlessly.
Here is a breakdown of the timeslip on the 9.0 pass:
60ft - 1.42
330 - 3.946
1/8 - 5.948@121.78
1/4 - 9.06@158
I would like to give a big thanks to Marco from Magnusmotorsports. He gave us an idea to try with our transmission and it worked great. We have had some small problems this year like breaking both axles on a launch, breaking 2nd gear, etc. We are trying to get it all sorted out before E-town on Aug 16th.
