Best 60' on Hoosier QTP

I know its a couple of people out there using these tires, but I want to find out who's out there cutting low (low 1.5s and better) and consistent 60s with them. Let me know what you've done to prep them also (you can send that via pm ). Are there any advantages to these over a true slick except the D.O.T. stamp?

Thanks,
William

No, I'm talking about the actual Hoosier Quick Time Pro like 9sec9, STM, Patrick B., and a couple others run.

I run consistant 1.5x's all the time on these although i've yet to hit something in the 1.4x range

The best have been 1.52's and 1.54's with others in the 1.5x range depending on the track.

I really have yet to launch it for all it's got as i don't care to break things............and you know how the saying goes.................so obviously i ain't trying hard enough

Consistancy is the main concern for me as i can always get more aggressive on the launch

On that note i know of a few Evo's running the QTP's that have gone in the 1.4x range (OKIX's Evo did as well as RAIF on the 16" version)

Oops my bad didn't know he went that quick...........VERY IMPRESSIVE

And in regards to the last part of the ? from the OP i vs. a full slick i don't see the QTP having any advantages actually more dis-advantages

Yeah. I'm kinda on the wall about these and a full slick, because the QTP will allow me to compete in a class thats more in my range, but I know I could get a better 60' with a full slick, such as the M/T or M&H. You just don't see these cutting 1.4 or even 1.3s very often, or as much as you do a full slick.

not trying to be a smartass, but why even run these if you know a slick is better? I know price isn't an issue because they're in same price range? Is it just to be in a more competitive class?

Gotta ask yourself if you're building something to be competitive in drag racing or something to run a specific ET/MPH with.

For me and the limited races we have out here if i go to a full slick then i have to compete against guys like Jeff Bush and his 8 sec auto 1G DSM at races like BOTI.

The other race we have CMI has their own very specific rules not necessarily for DOT tires though as the quicker AWD cars end up racing the full blown drag Hondas

IIRC, evryone who's running a 15" is using a 26x9.5x15.

I run them just because I don't think my WilWoods well clear a 15" rim and I haven't found a slick that well fit a 16" and is 26" tall?
