i have the slowest evo ever made
The only way to solve your answer to see if you truly have somthing wrong with your car is go get on a dyno and show papers to the dealer, figure about 60hp loss on a awd dyno. Next get every varible that you can and record it this will help back up your claim. Next drive a stock EVO at the dealer and have them drive yours, if there is a big difference they should be reasonable and take a look to see whats up with your car. The bottom line is that you are paying money for somthing so you should make sure you aren't getting ripped just because you go one jacked up from the factory.

Let's say he finds nothing wrong with the engine or his hoses which is entirely possible due to huge car to car variance for evo (this has been tested to be true), should he just keep the car stock and be happy? I know I wouldn't. And for the people who doubt his driving skill just look at his trap speed (94 mph) it's obvious he has one of the weaker evo's.

well, then he should take it up with the dealer instead of voiding the warranty. when youre faced with a problem like his, and your two choices are:
1) try to have the dealer fix it under warranty
or
2) void your warranty
how is this even a valid choice?
You do have grounds for a complaint if your dyno chart shows substantially less horsepower than normal, and if youre boost shows substantially less psi than normal. if course, you probably won't be able to get a new car, but the dealership, if the mistake is proven to be on them, has a duty to fix things in a reasonable amount of time.
So try that. but whatever you do, do NOT void your waranty in the meantime.
1st things 1st. Is your boost gauge right? What does it read at vac at idle? What about at 5k rpm doing decel? If that all looks good a dealer can and will hook up a boost gauge, there are specs for boost and if your is low they will fix it. I would NOT just turn up the boost. It's like modding a ****ed up car, you need a GOOD car to start with and take it to mitsu and let them do a boost pressure test and see if it's really low or it's you boost gauge. The damn drag strip is NOT a dyno.
vac reads 20 at idle and on decel reads about 25. the gauge i have is autometer. it's mechanical. the dealer acualy hooked it up so it wouldnt viod the warenty. and by the way the run i did tonight was on race gas. im stock otherwise. i had asked the dealer if they could change anything because the factory specs is supposed to be 19 psi and it does not do that so in a way they are comiting fraud to there costumers and i wasnt to happy about spending 30k on a car that does not meet up to the specs. they simply told me that there was nothin they could do. they are not authorized to simply raise the boost or change anything in the computer. they cheked the lines and there were no crimps or anything of that nature. i still dont understand hoe me bringing them a dyno graph of my car can make them fix anything. they wil just say i hapen to get an underpowerd one and they vary in hp ratings. do i have a case agianst mitsu. is it posible to get the lemon law on somthin like this. i mean they are basicaly lying to me in this case about the cars performence and i did purchase it becuase of that.
Well, by the sounds of it, if you are getting 15 psi MAX, or even 16-17 psi, you are just boosting too low, which sounds right considering that you have lower than expected trap speeds. If that is the case, get a boost controller as someone else mentioned, take it to the track, where it hits 19 psi max, and around 16 psi @ redline, and see if there is any changes for the better.

no way. i plan on moding the crap out of my car. but im really disapionted on what it runs stock. since i wanted to see what the stock evo can acualy do ya know. so when i put an exhaust/intake/mbc/ some sort of engine management on it do you think it will run what others do or still be at least .5 off similar evo's ith the same mods.?
derek, i think it's the track
bithlo sux
stock, my best run was a 13.89, i was hoping for mid-13's but tha was my best run, constant 13.9's... i dunno what the problem is, but i was trapping 97mph... 98 was the most STOCk
best ever 60' stock was 1.81, but i still ran a 13.9? wtf? i dunno
bithlo is a weird track
don't get your hopes down man
