Wheatley's 6262 10.4@149
Wheatley's 6262 10.4@149
I went to the track tonight to get more seat time, each time out its getting faster so Im pretty happy overall.
At the shootout the one semi clean pass I had was a 1.8 60' with a 10.7@141 not using nls and first time launching the car since 2010.
Tonight at our local track my first pass off the trailer was a 10.4@141 1.6 60' but missed 4th gear. Second pass was aborted since I had issues getting into second. Third pass it was getting chilly out and I noticed the big tire car in front of me getting really out of shape but I went for it anyways. I'm still trying to get my timing right for the staging brake release along with the clutch etc. From what I can tell I rode the clutch out too long and had the brake up partially past the beams. It felt pretty good, second wasn't the best but fairly quick and I nls the 2-3 and 3-4 for the first time. I knew it was a quick one when I saw the shift light come on at 7800 right before the traps and heard it hit the limiter at 8200 as I crossed the beams.
The car is pretty light for what it is. It still has ps/heat/wipers/radio/pw/pl/stock seats/stock steering wheel with air bag with noting cut. I think race weight is around 3k with me at 220lbs

We have go pro footage of the first pass but it was out of storage for the final pass. I know I need a LOT more seat time but I'm pretty happy with how its coming around so quickly.

That is an awesome trap speed with that 6262! By the way I'm Luis, I was that big tall guy with Adam West all weekend lol at Fathouse's booth and I talked to you some about your setup since I will be running a 2.3L with a 6262. Keep it up!

Thanks guys!
It was nice meeting you at the Shootout and good luck on your build!
Thanks it felt like a HEATER lol!
I cut a 1.6 earlier in the day, I think the track just went downhill fast after break and the sun went down. Hopefully I can get my driving dialed in and knock out some 1.5 sixties! My goal this year was a 9.9@145 and I think the car has it in it for sure!
Hopefully!

Thanks Dan.
I just reviewed the data log. My lift shift 1-2 was .3xx of a second falling into vacuum, the other two were in the .15 second range staying around 23psi. Its amazing how much faster these cars go when kept in boost.
