AreSTG / 11/16/2013 / Spec-Ops Motorsports / Evo 8 / FP BLACK, 2.4L, e85, QTP's / 9.991ET
AreSTG / 11/16/2013 / Spec-Ops Motorsports / Evo 8 / FP BLACK, 2.4L, e85, QTP's / 144.69MPH
I actually made it to the track again before the end of the season. Did NOT expect that. I had called it quits for this year after killing my transmission up in Ohio at the shootout. Do to various things, I only found myself behind the wheel of my Evo this year a select few times, most of which in Ohio.
But, thanks to some GREAT guys at Spec-Ops Motorsports I was afforded the opportunity to take a last chance swing at running my all elusive 9.xx ET. We've all known the car has it in her... I barely dropped into the 9's on this run, but I am stoked. If I was on my own transmission (and drove it like i stole it), it can't imagine the results. Full ESA trim, except for using QTP's (I'm not turning down the offer to borrow them either!)
Not bad for a POS Car...
Thanks B.J., last for the year

Congrats Tim & the Spec Ops crew for getting this car into the 9s before the season was over. I saw the video on facebook, car was rippin through the traps! List has been updated!
Tim or Matt, what does this car weigh?
To get this car to trap 148-150mph I think it would need some decent weight reduction or maybe aero mods. Front & rear under trays? Hard to tell in the facebook pics but is this car still running a 1.25" runner exhaust manifold? I imagine a 1.5" runner manifold may help with a little more power up top. I see stock seats in the car, maybe some lighter front seats? Full stainless steel exhaust? How about an aluminum downpipe back exhaust...

Last weighed in Ohio at 3050 without me in the car. I don't know exactly obviously but it must be a little lighter with Matt's QTPs and the new tcase.
Sorry if this reads horrid. On my phone

Man, you sure do speak my language. A while list of things I've had in the back of my head. Aero I'm limited Due to not knowing if certain things are allowed in ESA class (like the angry aero covers) but some undertray stuff I considered. Still on a 1.25" runners. I have 1 light weight seat up front (sparco) and I'd like to have another. Has a full stainless 3.5" exhaust, wish I could swap to the titanium...

With deleting the ACD junk, you probably dropped another 30lbs+ from the car. In the Shootout thread, the ESA rules don't say anything about aero mods, so I guess you would have to ask Mr. Buschur. If aero mods are allowed, front bumper covers would be nice + at least a rear under tray for the air getting stuck in the rear bumper. I'm not sure about you, but I definitely do not want to take a hole saw to my rear bumper. Titanium is stupid expensive, I would just go with a 3.5" aluminum exhaust. I have a 3" aluminum exhaust sitting in the garage as we speak, will be installed on my RS this winter...
