2014 Junk Box EVO / Boostin Performance 8.67 @ 168mph
Hey everyone,
Well I decided to take out the Junk Box this weekend for some Memorial Day racing. It was a hot weekend, but a lot of fun. I have been itching to race the car ever since last track day last season.
A quick recap of last season. My best pass last season was 8.77 @ 163mph in August a day after the DSM/EVO Shootout on the PTE 6466 t3. After that, I switched to the FP Super 99 turbo still a t3 frame with no other changes. I managed to go 8.80 @ 164mph even with my 1/8mile being .2 off. The weather was really cold since it was towards the end of the season and decided to be done for the year. Overall it was a great year and I was very happy how the car performed.
I have a build thread of the changes we were making to the car this season, check it out- https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/al...rformance.html
First pass this season to shake some of the rust off, I went 8.84 @ 167mph which I was pretty happy with since I haven't made a pass since late October of last year. I managed to set a new personal best on the first weekend out this season with a 8.67 @ 168mph. It felt nice to set a new PB on the first weekend out. That's always been my goal is to go to the track and set a new PB in any aspect whether its ET, MPH, 60ft, 1/8th etc.
The car has a lot left in it, it was a very humid day and this is just the beginning with the car. I will be back out soon! Here's the video of the pass along with the timeslip and a couple pics.

Awesome man, you have to be stoked with that - very impressive return to the strip and shows the intention and potential in regards to the hunt for the US Record Congrats on building and driving a weapon, and good luck for the season!

Thanks man! I am very stoked with the first outing results. Nothing better then going to the track and coming home with a new personal best. This is just the beginning, I am excited to get the car out again. I will keep this thread updated for sure!
8.2 would require some changes and the biggest one would be a turbo change, but anything is possible. For now, I am concentrating on the USA record. This is a good start!
Thanks man! I appreciate it!

Thanks Bud! I am very excited for this season, great way to start off 2014!
We did get a chance to weigh the car, the car came in at 2407 lbs at the moment.
Thanks Matt, I appreciate it!
Thank you! My plan is to get the 1/8th mile time down a little bit, car still gets a little squirly, but I am very happy with the first weekend out.
Thanks Jason! And thank you for being there to help and support!

I still plan on using the t3 Super 99 setup for a little while, there's is a lot of room left to go in the car and I'm going to try and do my best with this setup. I do plan on switching to a t4 setup at some point. But for right now I'm going to see what the car will do on the 99.
