get me into the 12's?

Okay I've ran a best of 13.24@104 with a 1.77 60' with Tanabe turboback, Injen intercooler pipe/intake kit, Greddy Type S BOV, Greddy Profec B Spec II @21psi.

Will a Dynoflash reflash and Walbro 255 help me get into the 12's?

DCSilvrEvo Oct 12, 2005 10:21 AM

DEFINATELY!

I had turbo back, SAFC, type S bOV and mbc @ 21 psi I hit 12.7 with more tuning it was 12.5

QwikEVO Oct 12, 2005 10:23 AM

well sounds like i need to find me an SAFC as well

Or get flashed, this is definitely what is slowing you down, car is running very rich even with the intake and boost controller.

QwikEVO Oct 12, 2005 10:38 AM

ya that's what I was thinking...hopefully this flash will open 'er up a bit.

Of course a Flash will help. 2 of your mods are actually being detrimental to your car unless that Type S is recirculated, in which case you have the poor $400 intake decision holding you back. You cannot run intakes like that without a tune. We've said it over and over again, yet people are STILL wondering why their car doesn't run well. That 1.77 60' is plenty good enough for a 12, but you're not making any power. You're making as much power as I did in stock form when I hit 104. With TBE and MBC, I was making another 40whp than that while running 12.6s. Get a flash (fuel pump not need, but is cheap and easy to do), then go have fun with your Injen intake. The car will be a new beast and then it will come down to driving ability. ;)

Also, if that BOV is not recirculated, get that done.

yeah definately get a flash for the intake. plus a flash will give you 20whp on a stock car so imagine what it will do with other mods. if you want a good example of what a walbro can do go to www.dynoflash.com and look at the dyno sheet with and without a fuel pump.

Well the intake/pipes were on the car when I got it, so I didn't waste $400... :D

And just so I know, why is the intake setup detrimental without the tune?

Also, yes...the Type S is recirculated. I did my research before I pulled it off my old SRT and put it on my Evo. I miss venting atmospherically though...the sound just isn't the same. :crap:

SAFC, pipes, fmic, cams, fuel pump, turbo back, injectors. will get you in flat 12.0 high 11sec.

Good, as long as you didn't pay more for the car used than you would have if it was stock. Also, good on the Greddy recirculating. You can't just ask why it's detrimental to run the intake setup without the tune. We've beaten that question to death over and over and over on EvoM. Go do a quick search, but it's just no good to even bother trying to go fast with an aftermarket intake while untuned. You'll see a big difference after the flash.

QwikEVO Oct 13, 2005 09:06 AM

nope I got it with the Tanabe turboback, Injen pipes/intake, NX ntercooler, Mitsu gauge pod, Mitsu shift knob, Mitsu front/rear strut tie bars for $22,500. The car is an 03 and had 26K on the clock when I got it.

ldstang50 Oct 13, 2005 12:20 PM

tune will definitely take you to the 12s. but also good driving. 1.77 ain't bad, but improve on that down to a 1.7 and you have about .1-.2 right there.

Bom's Evo Oct 18, 2005 07:38 PM

i would just say turn the boost up and go with some race gas.
get the power up so u can trap 106-107mph.

kcross Oct 18, 2005 07:48 PM

a fuel pump wont add power. its only nessecary if you are overworking the stock pump.

QwikEVO Oct 24, 2005 10:59 PM

well with no flash (yet), I ran a 12.92@103.3 with a 1.73 60' yesterday

So the flash will only help me out more!
