new times! monkey is off my back now...

well, went to the track today and knew it was hot as hell but i just could'nt resist going to the track with the new setup. track temps where 130 degrees and i mixed 3 gallons of 93oct with 4 gallons of 114oct. tires where 28psi and boost was at 30psi dropping to 24-25psi.

old setup:
buschur stage 4
custom tune

new setup i added the following:

buschur ported/coated exhaust manifold
evo9 turbo
ecuflash tune for race fuel

best track time:

r/t-.62
60ft- 1.66

1/8 et- 7.58
1/8 mph- 90.82

1/4 et- 11.80
1/4 mph- 116.04

afr's where 11.9-12.0. one thing i've learned from the install, DO NOT install that POS gasket that comes with the ebay o2 IF u bought it from ebay. install the stock gasket with the ebay o2. my gasket was blown out bad and the car was throwing the CEL on and it sounded like a boost leak but was the gasket that was blown out. with the new setup, i reinstalled the metal stock gasket and the car has yet to throw a CEL. the car runs great and hope to see some better times on a night race.

thanks goes to brian(turbodawg) for giving me some great advice with the ecuflash software. also, Buschur for there great parts and nick for his great customer service!

great times! congrats man.

thanks! i was pretty stoked about it. the run was smooth too. the car runs so good that it really didn't feel like an 11 sec pass until i looked how deep i was into redline in 4th gear. first run was a 12.03 and i knew i'd hit 11's after that. i ran 5 runs in a row at 11.8 after i got the car dialed in on race fuel.

Very nice, think there is anything left in it for quicker times?

i think the car is capable of an 11.6 on a cooler night. i usually lower the tire pressure to 21psi for a lil quicker 60ft too.

Congrats!! Hearing you and another guy on here breaking 11's makes me want to get out to the track so bad. But good job, very nice.

get your 60ft. to a 1.6 and jack the boost up a lil bit and you should be close. good luck!

Woot, I called the 11.8. Another 9 turbo gains .2s. Yes, lower the temps by 50* and here come 11.6s.

zbomb Jul 16, 2006 05:05 PM

awesome times man, thanks for the gasket advice also.

u know Warr, when i hit that 11.8 i had to laugh because i remember u calling it a couple days ago. i was yellin at myself in the car like i had just ran a 9sec pass when i got the timeslip. i was pretty excited needless to say.

oh, btw, i tried to hit an 11.7 just to say your were of by .1  thats why i hit 5 11.8's in a row. just couldn't squeeze it out.

Well I just got my Exedy twin, so once I get that in and a retune I'm going. I think the best I could muster was a 1.78 with the stock clutch. I know it will be better with the new clutch.

bigric09 Jul 16, 2006 07:01 PM

yeah you should, i went to today with fresh and accidentally had a 1.76 60ft with the exedy lol... wasnt meaning to launch until i see him leave me by a yacht length or two at the line lol. i would of hit some nice numbers today too but my LICP is not on quite right yet and i need to get my buschur upper pipe in but it is getting the flange for my aps welded on. Then the HKS can go in and i think i will be good, dont think i will hit an 11 unless lightning strikes when i hit the 1/8th but a very low 12 should be very reachable.

we going friday night fresh ? im glad you finally made it into the 11's... i bet you can squeeze an 11.5 out of it with a good track condition night or if we head to the Rock

freshevo8 Jul 16, 2006 07:05 PM

bigric09 Jul 16, 2006 07:23 PM
