New Personal Best but still not 11's

Well, I posted a week ago with excitement and disappointment. Shooting for 11's with what's on the car now but just can't seem to get there. Tonight, 1 step closer... Last week my best of 3 was a 12.28 @ 114. This week, 2 runs...

Run #1
R/T .161
60' 1.696
330 5.053
1/8 7.821
MPH 87.61
1000 10.204
1/4 12.191
MPH 113.72

Run #2 (Best)
R/T .128
60' 1.735 (Didn't stick as well this time)
330 5.089
1/8 7.824
MPH 89.47
1000 10.161
1/4 12.119
MPH 115.25

Sooooo Close but no cigar! First run it was about 72 degrees and second it was about 66. Location of track is in Cleves, OH. No altitude I believe. It's amazing what a little drop in temperature will do for MPH, plus better shifting!

Getting my AEM hooked up and tuned on Monday at Buschurs' so I'm hoping 11's will be in the picture in the next couple of weeks. {thumbup}

Your 330 is a little slow, try to shift the 1-2 a little faster, get that down to a 4.9 and you will be much closer to your goal, your trap speed is there, just need a little faster shifting...

Thanks Ultimate CC... I've had a problem with getting locked out of second when I rev too high so I'm a little hesitant when shifting into second. I'll have to continue working on it though. I know I have the MPH but my first three shifts are still holding me back. Hopefully after the AEM and re-tune, I'll hit my goal even with the granny shift into second.

Good luck...keep us updated...I too have some stuff to work on next time I go out to the track...as long as you keep improving and have fun its all good...

On your second run you had the trap speed to do it. It looks to me your losing a tick in the first 1/8th. The 330ft time is a hair off. Shot for a sub 5 and then a really low 7.7 or high 7.6 in the 1/8. You can do it. Nice work so far.

Nice effort, right on warrtalons ass. :)

I was in the same boat a few months ago. Actually still my personal best is a 12.15 @ 115 on the 16g, haven't tried out the 3065 yet, well I did but the MAF screen got sucked sideways.

Good luck

Thanks guys! I'm hoping in 2 two weeks I'll have 11's. I'd really like to get back to the track next Friday to get them but I got talked into a Marriage retreat next weekend. I'm screwed! Maybe when I do get the 11's I can spend more money on my wife instead of my car! ----------------------------------- Nahaaa :)

Good job - you keep improving. 11s are on the way for sure, but the good thing is you know the car is already fast enough. Now, you just need to get a solid run that combines a nice launch and quick shifting.

Very nice runs. A similar run like that with about 10degrees less in air temp and you got your 11. Is there any hunidity?

Warrtalon Sep 17, 2006 09:57 PM

I doubt 10 degree is going to make that much of a difference. He doesn't need to go faster; he needs to go QUICKER.

Well 6 degrees made a tenth difference this time. So I figure 10degrees will merit at least another tenth here.

BTW, FASTER QUICKER? Thats like saying hes not an idiot; hes stupid.
