Can a stock Evo MR or IX run 13.2?

Ok, I decided to take my Evo to the drag strip today. Met a guy with a Grey Evo MR. I told him how terrible I run on my first trial:lol: 13.474 @ 102mph. R/T was .752. Second trial I had a little better R/T at .405 but time was bad. 13.749 @ 102mph. Anyways, I can say that my best time for the day is 13.348 with R/T 1.769! It was elimination and I must have looked at the guy took off a little to long before I realized my light is green:lol:

Anyways, that guy told me that he run his stock Evo at 13.22 all day. I had a tuned already and I think I should do a little better? Maybe it's my poor reaction time or shifting point. I did all my shift at 7000rpm. Ok, laugh all you want at my times:lol: I didn't want to run a redlight so I usually wait until the light turns green before I go{thumbup} Will post some vids as soon as I get it loaded.

with a little more boost that shouldnt be to hard

First off, that is not a bad time. Second, your reaction time was not affecting your overall time, so that really should not be considered. The most important item you left out of your story was the 60' time, which is terribly important with our cars.

I remember he said he was running 25lbs of boost all day.

60 ft time are: 1.986, 2.164 and 1.893 respectively:beer:

1.9 is not bad at all

So, you can see how important your 60' is. Basically, your last run, which was your best of the day, had a 60' time that was about .1 less than the first, which netted you about .1 overall on the run. If you can get into the 1.7 60' range, you should have no issues making that 13.2 mark you were speaking of. Good job man, keep up the good work{thumbup}

1) There is a drag racing section (the thread was moved here thusly).

2) In that section, you can answer your own question with a little research. Evos have gone 12s in stock form.

3) You asked if an MR or IX can go 13.2. Why did you choose MR and IX? An MR isn't faster than a non-MR, and a IX can be an MR or non-MR. What is it you're really wondering? 05s can go 13.0-13.1, and IXs have hit 12s numerous times, but this is STOCK (a few 03-05s have hit 12s in stock form, but those are extremely rare unlike IXs). You are not stock and neither is the guy who said he was running 25psi, because stock boost is 20psi.

4) All those reaction times are meaningless in relation to your ET - they are only useful for bracket racing competition. If you were waiting for green each time, then you were not even competing really.

5) Yes, 60' is the absolute most important thing in terms of ET.

6) 13.3 is decent for being a noob to drag racing - good job. I hit a 13.1 with my stock 05, but I was very exprienced with dragging AWD turbos before getting my Evo. My 60' was also much worse than yours (1.92), so you drove better.

They don't do anything too impressive:) LOL... Mine went 13.3@103. The stock limiter is a beatch and the humidity is even worse:(

very nice man....think you could of done better or what?? wut was ur 60' ft?

That's exactly what I ran in stock form in 95 degree heat here in Cali. 13.3@103. From the sound of it, it seems like your shifting could help out a bit too. A 1.8 60' should be good to get you in the 12s no problem on the stock turbo depending on your mods.
