Buschur Racing's black drag car........on the chopping block?

This isn't the for sale section, yeah I know.

I am CONSIDERING selling our black drag car. The interest on our end has been low this year with too much work and other projects it just has been low.

The car ran 8.96 at 166 at the shootout on the small HTA88 turbo.

Is anyone interested in a turn key 8 second EVO? It's a drag car only, anyone remotely interested knows what it is.

I think as a company we get more mileage out of my daily driven RS running 9.4's and driving to and from the track. I know I enjoy it more as it is used for more than running down the track.

This isn't a threat to pump someone up into thinking an 8 second EVO is the greatest thing in the world but if anyone is considering building one, this one is done, legal and quite honestly with the rear end and suspension has the best set up out there right now.

You can comment here but if you are interested shoot me a PM.

Oscar, here's your chance to be the World's Quickest/Fastest, end of story;)

Damn man, Its going to be hard to see you guys let the car go.. I know the frustration that comes with an EVO Drag car.. Daniel had a blast though at the shootout with it.. He had a grin ear to ear when he ran 8's on a shakedown run on that little baby turbo.. anyway, i wont try to talk you out of it.. If I wasnt heading the same direction with my car i wouldnt hesitate to buy it.. I would put some pics up if you have some of the inside and outside of the car..

For those interested in it. This car is not some hacked up tin can race car.. The car is very well put together.. Good luck with the sale and to the future owner of a low 8 sec capable Evo!!

For those that might ask, can the IRS rear be put back in it without too much work? I have seen this car close up and I was truely in awe. Hope it ends up in good hands.

Dave, before one hater steps up to the plate....let me throw in my 2 cents. I don't blame you guys...what else is their to prove for you guys. Your RS is ridiculously fast anyway and the fact that its daily driven is even proving my point more.
Some all out drag racers will be bummed to not see any deeper numbers into the 8's, but for most of us out here I think we followed your RS closer anyway....since its a more practical car with way less issues to deal with. (That's what I followed when I put together my car)

You guys have built some crazy cars this past year and im sure will continue with the X in the years to come. Having an 8second drag car is no joke (maintence wise) which most people don't understand.

Just don't say your closing up shop;) Good luck with the sale.

The independant rear can not be put back in, why in the world would anyone want to do that.

We are not closing up! haha Not even close. Last year was our best year ever in 20 years. I think this year is going to be even better from the looks of things.

Daniel, my brother, doesn't even know about this thread to be honest. It's my car, if someone wants it, it's getting sold.

slorice, another white EVO? Maybe......About those wheels too...........

Interesting. Kind of sucks. That car is freakin bad ass.

dafunk630 Sep 5, 2008 01:36 PM

LOVE that car!!! It would suck if you guys got rid of it

David Buschur Sep 5, 2008 01:44 PM

I don't care about the record to be honest, that's part of the problem. There is just an overall lack of motivation when it comes to the drag car here at the shop. It always comes down to the last minute for something to be done to it and that's just not good enough. The car could easily be the quickest (it's still the fastest) on the planet but it takes some dedication to get it done and there is just a lack of dedication on this particular car on our part. Rather than have it sit here with nothing ever being done on it, I'd rather sell it to someone who will use it and go set some records with it.

I'm much more interested in my RS and all these customers running super fast. The times we've managed this year with full on street cars, to me and most other people are more impressive. I know it keeps me motivated.

I have said it before and I will say it again: The daily driven, streetable, full interior, 9.4 second RS is more impressive as far as I am concerned. I don't blame you one bit. I think the Evo is the BEST street & track car there is. Once the car becomes nothing but a dedicated, unstreetable, gutted drag car it loses its luster. Lets face it, if you want a gutted tin can of a drag car that you can't drive on the street there are better platforms than the Evo. I am sure that last comment will earn me some flaming ;) The car would still be awesome to own just to chase and set records.
