Congrats to Alan and Doug's Dynopower
Just got the news that Alan Szabo's EVO9, built at Doug's Dynopower in Las Vegas ran a 9.96@141.36 mph last night.
Doug's been a long time friend of mine and has built some very fast cars over the years. It's was only a matter of time before he showed what he could do with an EVO too. Doug's an autorized dealer of ours and his screen name here on EVOm is EARLYEVO. The car has our 2.3 liiter shortblock in it, a ported head from Baker in LV, Kelford cams, BR upper and lower i/c pipes, BR Race FMIC, Tanabe catback, BR ported intake manifold, BR 65 mm throttle body, BR coil on plug ignition, Bushwacker Stage 1 transmission, BR double pumper, PTE6265 turbo. The car is tuned with an AEM EMS, I had sent the base calibration to Doug at Doug's Dynopower a few months back and he worked the tune and we'd trade datalogs. While I was out in Vegas for the SEMA show I had the chance to stop by and just touch up the tune a little on Doug's Mustang AWD Dyno. The car ran a handful of good passes last night, driving to and from the track. Two 9 second runs with the best being the 9.96. The car was tuned and raced at 2600 feet of elevation. On the dyno the car made 620'ish, I can't remember the numbers off the top of my head, I was tired the night I was there. haha. I'll put the exact numbers up when Doug updates me or he or Alan can chime in if they see this thread. The car is a full weight EVO9 SE, full interior, full exhaust, A/C etc. The runs were made on VP C16 and an SMC alky kit. Great job driving the car Alan and great job putting it all together Doug. It's about time you showed the Vegas crowd what you are capable of. You've been building fast DSM's since the early 90's buddy, I knew sooner or later you'd whip out a fast EVO! What a great year. |
Congrats!
another 9 sec Buschur car!!! |
Awesome time, even better that he's driving it to the track
|
Hey thanks a lot Dave!
|
wow...another 9 sec evo from BR. Simple amazing.

You're welcome Alan. Thanks for using our parts, thanks for having Doug do the installs and wrenching for you and mostly thanks for kicking some ass at the race track and doing a great job driving it!! Great drivers show the ability of the shops involved in a project like that.
So let me get this straight, not only can you drive the hell out of an EVO but you can pilot the hell out of a helicopter?!;) |
Yo Alan great job man! Welcome to the Buschur 9sec power club.
I was to tell you Greg Poppel and his boy Nick said what's up! Dave I could kick his ass with my RC Heli  |

Its a pretty long drive as well 19.6 miles one way!!!! A little pricy on C-16 but well worth the results! |
