11's finally

Got some nice 50 degree air at Cecil County today. For my mods, I should actually be running mid-11's, but the car does have 112k miles on the clock so its probably a little tired. Here are my 2 best passes:

60'....1.681
330'...4.975
1/8...7.681
MPH..92.16
1000..10.002
1/4...11.944
MPH..116.19

60'....1.667
330'...4.964
1/8...7.673
MPH..91.71
1000..10.005
1/4...11.956
MPH..115.61

congrats on the 11's, nice driving too. what was your launch technique?

TonyG Nov 29, 2008 06:10 PM

It likes when I rev it to 5-6k and quickly slip out the clutch, like this:

I've tried launching off my 6k 2 step, but it doesn't seem to work as well as this method.

that looked really good in the vid, definitely doing a good job of keeping the R's up without boiling the tires.

pump gas ? who tuned it ?

purevibez Nov 29, 2008 06:35 PM

nice. im going to try and run in the elevens i hope should be there

TonyG Nov 29, 2008 07:28 PM

Those runs were with race gas and cranked boost. I ran 12.3@114 mph with pump gas and 24 psi (and a bad launch). I could probably run 12.1-12.2 with a good launch.

With the race gas tune, the MBC was set to spike at 29 psi, but on the track I never really see 29 psi...I only see ~ 25psi, tapering to 22 psi at the redline. That's probably one reason why I'm not really seeing a big ET difference with race gas.

what is your WHP/WTQ on race gas and on pump gas?

TonyG Nov 29, 2008 07:57 PM

330/340 on pump (24psi taper to 22), 360/360 on race gas (29 psi taper to 22).

11's on a car with 112,000 miles{thumbup} Got to love that Japanese engineering.Try that with a Ford Rustang..:D Good work!!

Congrats on the 11's. Looks like the 264/272 cams are still a good working combo (I have the same). I wish our temps here in a L.A. were as cool as yours, we were still in the 80's last week when I ran :crap:.
