245/45-17 Drag Radials

I want to put the BEST Drag Radials on my stock BBS. I've ran a set of the Nitto 555R and was not a fan! Having a hard time finding Drag Radials in that size. I want the DOT Drag Radials so I can drive to the track, race and then drive home. Can I please get some input?

225/45-17 BFGs are the best, but they are not really for driving on the road for long. I use the Nittos for the very reasons you gave. They work well for me, but aren't for breaking 60' records obviously.

I've pulled a 1.52 sixty on these tires! Just wish they were a little taller.

I thought I would want a wider tire? Is that the tire you ran your 11.5 with? And what about the new Dunlop Direzza? I saw a post that said 9 sec Buschur car on Dunlop street tires. I'm currently running 245/40-18 Toyo T1R's and laid down a 12.96 @ 106.?? with a 1.755 60 foot. That was with 297whp. Upgraded a lot sence then. Should be 420ish WHP and 440WTQ. I want all the traction I can get. Looking for 1.500 60 foot and 11's at Bandimere

Yes, my 11.51 is on the 245/45-17 Nitto 555R down at PMI in Pueblo. My best at Bandimere is an 11.62 on the same setup. You can see my power levels in my sig. I pulled 12.3s at Bandimere with 300whp on a 1.72 60'. Oh, the things I could do with 420whp. ;) Don't let huge correction factors fool you, but you will likely be in the proper power range for 11s from the sounds of it. I'll hopefully be at Bandi this Saturday for opening day in hopes of getting kicked off the track for going sub-11.5 on my Green.

You don't need width on Evos, because we have AWD - you just need grip. The width is for big RWD or FWD cars, so don't worry about that. Dunlops Z1s are not drag tires. In fact, they are not good for drag launches at all, because they have stiff sidewalls that are made for cornering (top autocross street tire). The Buschur car did 9s on it, but it's just got ridiculous power. It would do even better with a better tire, so don't get lost in the context.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I also have Z1s as my DD summer tires (Blizzak's on there now for snow), and I did pull a 1.69 at Bandi on a TNT night. I think I ran 11.8s that day, but that was before I started nailing 11.6s due to Tobz' tuning. I only have used the Nittos since that time, but I'm sure the Z1 would be fine - just not as good in terms of outright stickiness, sidewall flex, nor heat maintenance.

The nittos for me are alot more consitant. On the stock turbo and street tires a little bit in variation on how I launched would greatly vary my 60' mostly do to traction. On the nittos I could come out way to hard and blow smoke off the tires and still get a high 1.7x :)

Now I want some slicks. If you wanna hook it right bias plys are the way to go. Not so much for the driver aspect of it though. :)
