2.3L's
Those with strokers, do you run out of 4th before the finish line?
Thats all I have, thanks. |
depends on the power level, and the trans, and how high you're willing to rev too
|
I rev 4th out and have to shift to fifth. I have to get the VIII's 3rd and 4th put in. Plus I may get the 4.11 final drive.
|
I run outta 4th with the VIII 5 speed

probably need a dbl syncro 5th or rethink doing a stroker or not.
you could do a 2.0 or 2.1 and rev it up good with a nice head |
I shift out of 4th at 8000 rpms. Keep in mind I am on stock evo IX gears. I have no choice but to shift. If I was on race gas I would shift at about 8500.

Unless you're drag racing for competition or money and it's EXACTLY a 1/4 mile I don't see this being an issue at all.

Well I race nearly every weekend at the track and I don't want to be rolling across the finish line.
To me it seems silly that people stay 2.0 just so they can stay in 4th through the traps and report a "fast" 1/4 time when they could be having a 2.3 and be faster in almost every other method of testing but Top Speed and 1/4 racing....:confused::confused::crap: The 2.3 is more fun everywhere else. I will take that into deep consideration.
