Could you post a full mod list, your signature doesn't really show much.

It seems like you're a bit down on power, I would expect like low 90's trap for an average Red setup on pump gas.

damn griffey you aren't having much luck so far with this Red. I'm sure with some better driving you'll bring the time down.

its all in the practice, i remember the first time i raced mine i was neck to neck with modded GTI's, running like 9.2-9.4 in the 1/8th lol

Couple questions....What clutch do you have? Any motor mount? Shifter Bushings? Shift Knob? Engine Damper?

act street clutch....no motor mount, shifter bushing or engine damper...do have the silver shift knob from mitsu accessories

K well since you have the ACT im sure you are having trouble getting into second gear after the 2-step launch and sometimes into third cause I had the same problem.

Since then i got the shifter bushings and the greddy counter weight shift-knob which allowed me to bang thru the gears a bit easier. I would do those two for now which are relatively not that expensive and see if that makes it any better. then you can get the other two things if you'd like to hold the motor in place.

For the 1/8, the ET is all in the 60' and the 2 and 3 catch. HP helps but there's only 1/8 mile to launch and shift 2 or 3 times.

In the 1/4 you can make up with HP in 4th. I never ran the 1/4 and haven't been to the 1/8 in several years. But I know the 1/8 is a driver's race (+luck)

Admittedly we are a little short on the 1/8 track here, and they dont give us 60' times, so , here is my .o2. I have to slip the clutch quite a bit to get a good launch. If you are missing gears, it makes it really hard to get a sub 8 in the 1/8. I can drop from a 7.6-7.7 to an 8.1 with just a hard time getting it in gear. Thanks for the info about the shifter busshings and such, maybe that will fix my problem with shifting.
cat back exhaust
K&n intake
lightweight flywheel
evo ix
