Project White, stock ECU record(?), low 10's
We just got back from the track, more like the hot lapping session! haha
Here is the video: PROJECT WHITE ON YOUTUBE *CLICK* We took Project White out and our EVOX. For a recap, not that I'll remember to list every single mod but here is what Project White consists of: BR Stage 3, 2.3 liter BR Stage 3 head Jun 272's BR double pumper E85 STOCK ECU, STOCK MAF BR 3" turbo back with TWO mufflers BR filter kit BR upper and lower i/c pipe BR Race FMIC Stock ignition Bushwacker Stage 1 trans with 4.11 gears Exedy Triple HD cerametalic BR battery kit Front/rear bumper beams out, egr off, evap canister removed, intake bracket off BR ported intake manifold BR 65 mm throttle body BR ported/coated stock exhaust manifold FP Red turbo BR ported/coated 02 housing 1200cc injectors BR double bend MAF pipe Stock EVO9 BOV, crushed The car weighed in at 3236 pounds with driver. I am fairly certain that our performance today is a MPH record on the STOCK ECU and STOCK MAF. If not please someone correct me. So we arrive at the track at 11:15, unload the car, put the numbers on the window, check the tire pressure and put the laptop in the car to log with. First pass is made at 11:30 am. 10.61 at 135.52 mph. Not bad for a first run. We then went on to make a total of 15 passes before 2:00! As the day went on the car kept dropping a little ET and gaining a little MPH. The last 5 passes ranged from 10.3538 to 10.3670!! Those last 5 passes were done within 27 minutes of each other. Our best pass of the day all came together in one pass and here is how the time slip looked: 60'-1.4458 1/8th mile ET-6.6519 1/8th mile mph-102.72 1/4 mile ET-10.3538 1/4 mile MPH-138.53 Trent Stanley was driving, THANK YOU TRENT. The worste run of the day MPH was 135.52. We had 2 runs at 135 mph. We had 4 runs at 136 mph, 4 runs at 137 mph and 4 runs at 138 mph. One pass was aborted after a missed 2nd gear. The best 60' of the day was a 1.4437. This car is no light weight as mentioned, 3236#'s. I've kept it nice, quiet and complete. Sunroof, 8 speakers, TV/NAV, all sound deadening, a/c etc. Just the things listed above taken off for weight. I am very happy with the stock ECU and stock MAF performance. It wasn't too long ago I was convinced running a car at this level on the stock ECU was not only impossible but also would result in a poor driving EVO, I couldn't have been more wrong. I am sure and so is Trent that there is more in the car. I couldn't get the datalogger to log for some reason, kept getting an error. It was just over 80 degrees today and we ran the car back to back with no cool downs. I almost stayed for racing tonight when it will drop into the 60's to see how much better it would run! The boost, on the gauge, showed a peak of 30-31 psi right on the 4th gear shift. I also want to thank so many guys in the stock ECU world who have brought so many great features to stock computer tuning. Colby, jackoftrades, jester, GST, Mr Fred, Fast Freddie, jscbanks, Hamish and I am sure there are others but I'm going off the top of my head of guys who I've been in contact with. Don't feel left out if I didn't remember, the stock ECU community here on EVOM is probably the best "niche" that exists here. So thanks to all you guys for making my job so easy, all I had to do is the actual tuning! |
Congrats again Dave. That's quite a jump in mph from last time out. :) Any changes other then the slicks? Your right behind my Red/stock Ecu/ stock maf time but it would seem you do have the MPH record. {thumbup} This car has the mph for a high 9 for sure!!
p.s. A sponsored BR shortblock would sure help. jk Congrats again:thumbup: |
Damn that's quick. :)
|
Ya you got me by a bit sir. That car mphs hard on the backhalf I wish mine would. :)
Good job Fathouse |
Congrats! Love Project White.
|
Man, what next from you Dave.
Impresive |
Outstanding Dave.
|
Great times David! Good driving Trent!
Wish I was there. I'm sure with a nice cool Ohio evening the ET will drop even more. |
Great job Dave that is very impressive on the stock ecu/maf!
Ryu and Fathouse are the only 2 guys besides Mellon that i know of running times like that. Kudos! Was Jrod able to rec i like watching his vids. |
Congrats Dave. What kind of tires were you running?
|
OK, Ryu, thank you for setting me straight. I completely forgot about you and I forgot about Mellon too he ran 10.41 on just 93 octane. I think so that puts me 3rd on ET.
I will change my first post, I wasn't sure as I said. Great job, 10.30 is getting it done!! Also, there have been no other changes since the last time we ran. I'm honestly not real sure where all the MPH came from. We had the slicks on and ran at D42 instead of NRP. The boost was 2-3 psi higher this time too but the car is up from 129 mph to 138. What's funny is when the car ran the 129 mph I was puzzled at to why it was so freaking low, with the power the car was making on the dyno it should have been much higher. Now with it at 138 mph it is more inline with the WHP numbers. |
Amazing times David! Is the Maf epoxied, or can you get away with it as is?
|
Today is the first time I've heard about the epoxied maf. It is not epoxied now. I probably won't bother. My next step is speed density on this car with the stock ECU. Should be good for a few tenths and few MPH.

I was just going to ask you about speed density Dave. |
