PATRICK B. finally goes 9's!
Well last weekend was a crazy one........very hectic but very pleasing at the same time!
We finished up the modifications needed to the turbo kit late Friday night as i made the decision to sell my old 35R to go w/ the new air-cooled PTE 6262 turbo. We actually had it on the dyno and Sean was tuning it at 7am Sat morning so that we could make it to Sacramento Raceway for TNT at noon. I thought that it would be the last chance to make decent passes as it's been getting cold here in CA and the wet stuff is on it's way. The 6262 gave us some good results on the dyno (i'll start another thread for the info on that later) and so although a bit late we made it to the track and decided to make a quick 3-4 pass to log info and to also see what kinda change if any there was to the 2 step and launch technique as the new turbo seems to spool very quickly and easily :) This pass could have really ended up very very bad (remember an ultra clean 9 sec 2G DSM?) as i took my time off the line and let the guy in the Vette leave first only to see him get all kinds of sideways as i bang 2nd gear :shok: and thankfully i had enough speed/momentum to pass quickly as he made a hard left and SMACKED the wall :vava: at about the 300ft mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY_UXIYXx_c After that i went back out and made another pass but it spun pretty good in 1st and so it didn't ET very well but the MPH surprised me as it felt fat up top and it was but showed lots of promise. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...K/DSC01641.jpg With the cold temps and lack of big slick dragsters laying down rubber it was tough to find the balance and not spin like crazy. So even with a softish launch we ended up with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6vaJhFy9pg Here's another angle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nM_l669Ads http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...K/DSC01637.jpg I tried to go back out and back the ET up but the track was too cold to hold any significant power but i'm glad to say that it did go 146 mph for a 3rd time that day. Unfortunately the 60ft timers were not working and i'm very interested to speculate the 60' et's but i'd say a conservative low 1.5x So needless to say there is a few more tenths in it just in the launch so i'm very pleased w/ how things turned out ..........now to get my NHRA license and get ready for next season's racing :yahoo: |
Congrats on Hitting the 9's and solid MPH too! All the hard work and time paid off!!

It runs Hoosier QTP's (DOT) tires and it's tuned by Sean Burgess of FULL FUNCTION TECHNOLOGY. Here's another angle from the stands: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nM_l669Ads |
