What's holding me back?

Last December I took my 03 out with nothing but a 3" catless exhaust. I ran 13.8 at 97mph. I recently put on everything listed in my sig, plus an o2 housing, and got a street tune. The tuner put on no lift to shift, and set the rpm drop as 1500. I couldn't break into the 13s last night. No matter what I did. My best guess is the no lift is the culprit. What do you guys think? Any input appreciated

Edit: same clutch/flywheel and tires as last time too

Post a breakdown of the slip...

Lots of things to rule out... could be something mechanical even.
Check your car for boost leaks via using a pressure tester
You should be able to run more boost than 22psi depending on your tune
Driving technique could be a huge portion of it. post some 60ft times. The mph seems kinda low to me.

Spark plugs? Most common mistake for all turbo cars!

Tire psi, weight, outside temp all the same?

All the same, spark plugs were not changed that long ago. I can't post pics of the slips (no way to upload) but the 60' times were close, then it just got slower and slower as i went further down the track. If my 60' was identical the 1/8th was .2 slower, 1000' .3 slower, eventually ending in .4 slower. I found last night my TV shaft seals are leaking. Gonna take off no lift and try and get those in by next Friday (track day)

Just post the numbers from the timeslips. You should be at in the 105-109 MH in the 1/4 and 80-85 MPH in the 1/8th. If your TB seals are leaking, that could explain it.

make a list of the things that you think could be slowing you down and then start by eliminating with the easiest options on that list i.e. NLTS, spark plugs or a boost leak test.

Whats your 60 foot times?

project_skyline Mar 31, 2011 09:33 PM

1500 rpms for NLS is too much. I have mine set to like 600, I'd say 1k is the max.
But thats probably not your problem.

Post the numbers from the slips from your last time out and the most recent.

Include track, date, and conditions.
