Has anyone tryed these DR's?
I was wondering if anyone have tried the Toyo Proxes TQ? If anyone has a 16" rim and wants to ride on the street they might be good. They make them in a 255/50-16 it would make them 26" tire.

Why on earth would you run those? If you are going to go to a 16" wheel setup, why not use QTP's or a slick? I understand you said for street driving, but you can run 17 inch r-comp's with similar results on the street. You don't want a 16 inch soft sidewall tire when you are going around corners.

I daily drive my car way too much for any soft compound tire. a sticky tire like that would have to have its own set of track wheels IMO.

Interesting; never herd of anyone running those. I wonder how soft the sidewalls are. As stated by GotWheelHop, on a 16" wheel, you're better off with Hoosier QTPs unless you plan on running around town with them, then, that wouldn't be a wise choice.

The only way I can see running those is if you have a 17x9 wheel and didn't want to run separate wheels and tires for the drag strip. Those sidewalls would probably be pretty damn soft.
I currently have 255/35/18 Toyo R1R's that i've been taking down the strip. Best 60ft so far was a 1.66 with them. They've got a 140twr and a sidewall on the softer side, so they tend to hook better than most. |

there very heavy tires too. i would not use them. nearly 2 to 3 lbs heavier per tire then most DR tires. and 7 lbs heavier PER corner then the Hoosier 245/45/17 DR.
