EVO's are not 13.5 sec cars.....
Just for proof as soon as i get a scanner i will post my time sheets. I have a stock, i mean bone stock evo and went to englishtown raceway park and ran 12.9's all day. F the STI, a STI ran a 14.23 and a 13.88. Now which is the better car? And dont say it was the driver, i mean it has something to do with it, but still, im 23 and the guys were late 20's, so im sure they knew how to drive the car. So just to prove you EVO haters or doubters wrong, i will have proof that EVO's are 12 second cars.

It is the driver, but it can also be your elevation, you might be closer too sea level which might give you a boost in performance. Let's see some slips, this sounds pretty interesting.
e-town is sea level.
Well there you go, that's probably the reason.

E-town is also the fastest track in the country. Awesome times!

Track conditions play a large part in your timeslips. I am sure you nailed that tree though :D
yup definitely possible to crack a high 12 second run on a stock Evo. I think a few people have done it before you and even Motor Trend magazine ran like a 13 flat stock. STI's can do the same or better though. A lot of factors like driver, conditions and how strong the car is. On average the Evo IS a mid 13 second car since there is huge car to car variance as seen on the dyno.
i driven the STI, and i dont like it one bit, and not just saying that cause i got a EVO. I have and like the EVO more cause i tried them both out. The thing rattles bad and the interior is inferior to the EVO
really? I like the STI's interior way more. I bought the Evo for it's handling more than anything else. The Evo has it's share of rattles too.
It is in fact all driving and also a matter of how hard you want to drive your vehicle. Judging by your times you probably launched 0.5 seconds quicker than the Sti in your 60ft times, which is huge. I'm sure on the STi forums there is an Sti driver posting about how many 14 second EVO runs he/she witnessed at his/her local track (and they do happen regularly). If you're willing to launch your tranny like there's no tomorrow, sure you can grab an occasional 12.999999 second timeslip on ideal track conditions in chilly March weather.
well we have our opinions. I didnt like the STI. And what made me think of it worse was if they dont even give you a radio, imagine asking for warranty work. Subaru are a bunch of cocksuckers. But i wont lie, Mitsu has its share as well.
plus the STI wheels, i dont like em

actualy the evo in japan GSR and RS run consistant 12.5 to 12.7 {OMG} stock i know gas has a lot to do with it. but still those guys get all the fun stuff. i have a BM vid of it. {thumbup} i admit i can't seem to be able to launch right the best 60 ft i can get is 1.9 / my car hasnt been the same sice i had works flash my car.
oh well but great time tho {thumbup} sounds like a strong car |
