Stock Motor ETS 6466 1/4 Mile Results
Wanted to share my results from the 1/4 mile yesterday.
06 Evo SSL 57k miles E85 Essentials: Stock bottom end, stock trans and stock t case Ets v band turbo kit Pte 6466 gen 2 dbb turbo Kelford 272 cams Gsc springs and retainers Full bolt ons I can provide a full list if anyone cares... Tuned by Kasey Harris at Dyno Time speed works This was the first pass of the day and first pass ever on these tires. I had my best 60’ on the next pass and almost got into the 6s 1/8 Mile but missed 4th gear. Was so mad. Probably would’ve been my 10.5-10.6 I wanted. This is on a comp stage 2 clutch and I think when it gets hot the shifting gets really notchy for some reason. Need an exedy twin disk and a shep trans so I can bang the gears and run a low 10. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...7bf4b28cb.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...409d5b38d.jpeg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...13ac76047.jpeg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...c08a7be8d.jpeg |
Nice job man!! Get that 60’ down to 1.6 and your low 10’s for sure, keep at it.

Congrats! Is there a return trip planned?
I wouldn't worry about it on the slicks. Slicks and a 1.6 60 ft should be fine for stock drivetrain. The soft sidewall of the slicks will help absorb the initial shock. - Robert |

- Robert Another reason I wanna do slicks. I too am scared of destroying the drivetrain, so this is good to know. OP, good work man {thumbup}:mitsu: |
Using slicks will impose more risk on damaging the drivetrain because you have instant traction, therefore, rather than dissipating the energy thru wheel slip, it will transfer into the drive-line components and clutch slippage.
Slipping the wheels is a good thing for the drive-train! |
I've heard it go both ways. Tire slip can cause wheelhop or shock the drivetrain when it finally catches while slicks absorb that shock. But slicks provide a bunch more traction. I don't really know lol all I know is these damn Evos are a hell of a lot harder to cut a good 60' versus the DSMs that I'm used to.
