Now i have read this thread and I try every once in a while, and I will try more often, but when should this be applied? do you make the HT shift in the middle of the turn? or do you make this HT shift just before the turn?

You want to be accelerating at the end of the apex of the turn right? so you should be making the shift just before going into the turn right?

I am so confused I guess I will just try mastering the rev-matching first.

You need to be finished with your downshift before you enter the turn. In fact, after you rev match and complete the shift your foot should either be on the brake still or just coming off. The more you practice the more you get a feel for it. Talking about the theory of it won't help much, just go do it. You will feel it when you do it right. It will be probably the smoothest turn you ever made.

I do this commonly for down shifting. I find that you do not have to use your heel. You can roll your foot over since the pedals are so close.

I've HT'ed while street-driving ever since Mr. Mueller scolded me once for not doing it. Although with my biggish feet I have a much easier time placing the ball of my foot on the brake pedal and using my toes to blip the gas. My heel stays planted and I can roll one way or the other for brakes/accel depending on the situation. Anyway, works ok for me.

I've noticed that it really smoothed up the shifts in my new Evo gearbox IF I timed the blip before engaging the gear instead of just before declutching. I'm getting used to that now though and things are speeding up a little. Maybe that'll pay itself off later on the synchros.

i got so used to it, i had to drive the woman's manual cavalier, and outta habit tried to do it coming into a corner

didn't work too well.

I respaced my pedals, so they're extremely close and at the same height.

I just got my evo 2 weeks ago which is also the first manual car that i have owned. After reading a quick tutorial of how to HT, i found that it really is not hard at all. I can now HT no problem. Just practice it around town and you will pick it up in no time.

Dude I feel your pain, 14XW over here. I picked up a trick from watching Walter Rohrl's footwork in the old group-b rally cars. He puts the top end of his foot on both the brake and throttles pedals then uses the edge of the brake pedal as pivot point to blip the throttle

Heel toeing was always hard for me in my 240sx with a size 13 foot. Any one figure out how to overcome the foot size problem?

i made the brake pedal closer (shimmed it out) and got a wider pedal.

I have small feet so I got a Razo gas pedal extender and on the middle extension setting, I can heel-toe great and I do it all the time.
