180's?

How do i do complete 180s with the hand break on dry ground... i was going about 60 mph and turned the wheel all the way and a sec after pulled the e brake but the back wouldn't swing.... any good techniques or tips? Thanks

When I do 180's I start to pull the e-brake before the actual turning. I don't know if that is proper technique or if I'm doing something wrong or what, but it works for me. I don't usually have to do 180s though. I've only done it when screwing around with my old car behind a warehouse.

I suggest not doing that at all. And if you insist, please don't do it while I'm driving by.

side note, if you own a car with a.c.d. pull away.. just depress the clutch.. if you dont have a.c.d. dont pull the e-brake, youll destory youre center diff.

^ Yes, I learned that one the hard way. $1800 hard, it was.

But if you have an '05 up, hit the brakes to load the front tires and get more grip for turning, turn and pull the lever at the same time. Have fun.

Go at a decent speed, turn wheel really hard, pull the e-brake, depress clutch, put e-brake down, shift into 1st or 2nd and take off the opposite direction!

60 mph? sounds dangerous...

voidhawk May 26, 2006 08:03 AM

speed depends on how much grip you have - I used to be able to do this in a dry parking lot, but since I upsized to 275's it cannot be done at any speed that's even remotely sane in a public area. Snow is a different story :D.

alrite for the 180 in a fwd
1. gain speed 45 mph to 180 (i go bout 55-60 mphto 360)
2a. cut wheel either hard right or keft depending on what direction u wanna go but pull the ebrake up at same time for a sec just to intiaite the slide(DO NOT FORGET TO DEPRESS CLUTCH) there u go 180
-end 180 section-
2b.. cut wheel either hard right or keft depending on what direction u wanna go but pull the ebrake up at same time for a sec just to intiaite the slide

3.once the car i turned 90 degrees in the direction u wanted the car to spin shift to reverse

4.hold it untill the car has turned 135 degrees apply full counter steer and let off clutch this should continue the spin past 180 degrees

5.ok the car spins at around 225 degrees depress clutch shift in to 2nd gear keep clutch depressed

6. at 270 degrees cut wheel in direction of spin and let off clutch u should end up the direction u where heading and there u go a complete 360...........I SHOULD WARN U IT DOES ALOT OF WEAR AND TEAR ON TIRES AND SUSPENSION

I'd be curious to know how many center dif's of 03/04 evo's are going to be destroyed by post ff3 evo owners... :crap:
