Scorke

I could still drive it to the track if I wanted to without problem I am sure

Some of the tracks are very far away from me and at some point the gear and tools become a real nightmare to carry around in evo - not to mention having to beg and borrow places in other people's trucks at the track to store your gear

Once you reach a certain level of power you just anticipate that occassionaly things will break on the car when you are trying to set records and it becomes idiotis to be stranded out say in Ohio with a broken car and no way to get home

Well today was filled with a lot of little problems all day

First pass killed when my fuel presure reg boost hose popped off when I ****ed to 4th - 10.2 @ 94 mph

Second pass killed when I ran out of gas (idiot) mid pass

Third pass shows some promise, sadly my seat slider did not enjoy the application of 900 plus whp against my fat 300 plus lbs and when I took off in 1st the seat let loose and threw me into the roll bar cross brace - about 6 inches back - enough to pull my right foot off the gas

I was so crazed that I just slid up and contined with the pass

I was glad that I laid into it as I never before felt that kind of power

148.50 mph in the 1/4 at 10.4

I am quailified for the Q16 first round tomorrow and I am now going to bolt the seat slider so the thing can pop loose on me again

Looks like another long night as I remove the seat, drill it and bolt the slider - all in the Wawa parking lot

Desperate times require desperate measures

Wish I had better news to report but at least I am still in the race and did not break anything (yet)

PS - big problem I haved now from a technical aspect is that the front end lifts up and the pass side front tire leaves contact with the ground when I launch it. I have not hnad this problem before so I have to so some thinking on how to correct it

Al, if I were you, I'd be very excited. You did a 10.2 with about 60 less MPH than you're supposed to trap. That's an easy, DEEP 9-sec run. Good to see you trap 148.5. That just means you're probably going to hit a 150+ when you get a full run. It's great news that nothing broke. Tomorrow should be very exciting.

sounds like you had a long day. Bummer about the seat slider, nice trap though even with letting your foot of the gas. I know your rear suspension was revalved with stiffer springs but do you think you might need to upgrade the susp all together now with all the power you making?????

Good luck tommorow man!!!!!!!

Talking Good Job AL!!

The bugs will get shook out you're almost there. Nothing major broke right? Sounds like you could use a 55 pound plate or 2 in the right front. What's another 100 pounds of dead weight?
